6、age 3 1 Scope and field of application This standard specifies a method for measuring the insulation resistance of mated or unmated elements of connection. It shall be used together with EN 259 1. 2 References EN 2591 Aerospace series - Elements of electrical and optical connection - Test methods -

7、General 3 Preparation of specimens 3.1 Specimens shall be wired in conformance with the technical specification. Measurements shall be carried out on elements of connection which are mated or unmated in accordance with the technical specification. Unless otherwise specified in the test concerned, th

8、e specimens shall not be cleaned. 3.2 Unless indicated in the technical specification, the following details shall be specified : - measuring method (A, B or C) to be used, - elements of connection mated or unmated, - minimum value of the insulation resistance specified by the test concerned, e.g. e

9、nvironmental , contamination, temperature, moisture tests, etc. 4 Methods + 20 The insulation resistance shall be measured under (500 o 1 V d.c. The insulation resistance shall be recorded when a stable reading is obtained. If a stable cond+i&on is not reached, the insulation resistance reading shal

10、l be recorded within (60 o) s after application of test voltage. 4.1 Method A The insulation resistance shall be measured in turn between each contact and all the others connected together and to the housing (shell) or the mounting plate. 4.2 Method 3 Alternate contacts shall be connected together t

11、o form two groups, the first group including all even numbered contacts, the other all odd numbered contacts for instance. 12、 contacts and the second group connected to the housing (shell) or to the mounting plate, - the second group of contacts and the first group connected to the housing (shell) or to tt ie mounting plate. In the case of contacts arranged in two or more rows, it may be necessary to form a second arrange

13、ment of two groups in order to measure the insulation resistance between all adjacent contacts. 4.3 Method C ThG insulation resistance shall be measured between two adjacent contacts or one contact and the housing (shell) having a minimum spacing. 4.4 Requirement The measured value shall not be lower than that specified.
