2、. 1. SCOPE 1.1 Scope. This specification covers extruded aluminum alloy armor shapes up to and including 2 inches in thickness (see 3.3 and 6.2). 1.2 Classification. Material furnished under this specification should be one of the following classes (see 6.2): Class I - 5083 and 5456 Class II - 7039
3、and 2219 2. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS 2.1 General. The documents listed in this section are specigied in sections 3 and 4 of this specification. This section does not include documents in other sections of this specification or recommended for additional information or as examples. While every effort has
4、 been made to ensure the completeness of this list, document users are cautioned that they must meet all specified requirements documents cited in sections 3 and 4 of this specification, whether or not they are listed. 2.2 Government documents. 2.2.1 Specifications, standards, and handbooks. When specified in the contract or purchase order (see 6.2) and before production has commenced, samples of the specified item shall be made available to the co

The approval of the first article samples authorizes t
17、he commencement of production but does not relieve the supplier of responsibility for compliance with all applicable provisions of this specification. The first article samples shall be manufactured by the process proposed for use on production. 3.1.1 Change in mill processing. After an armor materi
18、al has successfully complied with the requirements of this specification, any deliberate chanae in the-mill processing by the manufacturer Chal1 be drawn ti the attention of the procuring activity and the contractor. If the material processing is changed, the first article tests of this specificatio
19、n may be again called upon to assure compliance with the requirements of this specification. 3.2 Chemical composition.
