2、ent Research and Development Command, and is available for use by all Departments and Agencies of the Department of Defense. Bar/core identification -r- shall be in accrd-ith the following criteria. 3.4.1 (U) Initial production. For the first 5000 cores - - manufactured
4、by a contractor, or as directed by the contracting officer, each bar/core shall be identified by a serial number consisting of, as a minimum, two alpha characters, a four digit melt or casting number, a one digit ingot or billet number, a one digit bar number identification and a two digit heat trea

After completion of the first 5000 cores by a contractor, or as directed by the contracting officer, each bar/core shall be identified by a serial number consisting of, as a minimum, two alpha Characters I a four digit melt or casting number, a
7、 one digit heat treatment (aging batch) number and an optional three digit sequential core number . The identification number shall be in accordance with the following sequence (for codes see 3.4.3) : - - 01xxxx-Y-zzz 3.4.3 (U) Alpna and numerical characters. The alpha characters shall be assigned b
8、y-the contracting officer. The numerical characters shall be assigned by the contractor. 3.4.3.1 (U) Alpha characters. The alpha characters are identified as below: O = manufacturers code 1 = itein/procuring agency code. 3.4.3.2 (U) Numerical characters. The numerical characters are identified as be
9、low: W = ingot or billet number V = bar number for a specific ingot or billet XXXX = sequential melt/casting lot number (0001-9999) Y or YY = neat treatment/aging batch number (1, or 01, shall be used unless the melt is aged in more tnan one batch, i.e., use numbers 2-9, or 02-99, when melts are spl

This document shall include descriptions of specified production processes 8 procedur es and equi pent (including i n-pr ocess inspection equipment) used to manufacture and inspect the production material as stipulated in the contract. The descriptions shall id
13、entify, as a minimum, the complete sequence of operations and schematic line layouts, basic fabrication processes (i .e . casting , for ginq 8 extrusion 8 machining 8 etc.) I fabrication equipment (i.e., type, model no., dies jigs, fixtures, etc.) 8 controls associated with fabrication processes (i.
14、e., times, temperatures, feeds, speeds, pressures, etc.) 8 associated processes (i.e. 8 heat treatment, stress relieving, plating, etc.) 8 controls on these associated processes (i .e . 8 equipment descriptions # times, temperatures, etc.) in-process inspections, gages and setups utilized and applic
15、able in-process inspection procedures . Process control documents shall be submitted in accordance witn DI-P-1604 (see 6.5.1). All initial and revised process control documents shall be submitted to DRDAR-QAT-A for review and disposition (see 6.5) .“ Add: 3.10 as follows: “3.10 (U) Eddy current insp
16、ection. Each core shall be inspected in accordance with paragraph 4.5.6. Calibration shall be performed using an approved-standard manufactured in accordance with drawing 9280323. The flat cylindrical sections shall be calibrated using a 0.010 inch deep by 0.100 inch long by 0.005 inch wide circumfe
17、rential slot and the grooves shall be calibrated using a 0.010 inch deep by 0.060 incn long by 0.005 inch wide circumferential slot. The test shall be performed in accordance with ASTM E-18 using a cylindron anvil and the appropriate penetrator for the Rockwell C scale. Hardness readings shall be taken at three separate locations along the length of each bar; 1.0 +
22、 0.5 inch(2.54 + 1.27cm) from each end and + 0.5 inch (1.27cm) from the center. One reading shall be taken at each location and shall be oriented approximately 120 from one another . Readings shall be corrected in accordance with ASTM E-18. These readings shall then be rounded to the nearest integer
23、 in accordance with ASTM E-29. If any reading fails to meet the applicable drawing requirement, a retest shall be performed within 0.25 inch longitudinally frm the original measurement. No more than one retest is allowed at any one location. Failure to meet tne applicable drawing requirement at any
