SCOPE 1.1 Scow. This specification covers a 60 by 96

2、 inch, polyester, mesh knit cover intended to provide instant camouflage for the individual soldier. 1.2 Classification. The cover shall be of one type and size in the following classes as specified (see 6.2). Class 1 - Woodland Camouflage Pattern Class 2 - Daytime Desert Camouflage Pattern Class 3

Nothing in this document hmver, supersedes applicable 3. REQUI- 3.1 First article. When specified (see 6.2), a sample shall be subjected to first article

12、 inspection (see 6.3) in accordance with 4.3. 3.2 Standard sample. The face and back of the ctyed and/or printed mesh cloth shall match the standani sample for shade and appearance and shall be equal to or better than the standard sample with respect to all character- istics for which the standard s

13、ample is referenced (see 6.4). 3.3 Material. It is encouraged that recycled material be used when practical as long as it meets the requirements of this specification. class 1, class 2 and class 4 covers shall be without optical brighteners. 3.3.1 Yarn. The yarns shall be semi-dull or dull polyester

The color of the finished cover shall be as follm: Class 1 - Woodland Camouflage Pattern Class 3 - Snaw Camouflage (white) Class 4 - Desert Camouflage (3 color) . Class 2 - Daytime Desert

15、 Camouflage Pattern The required shades for classes 1, 2 and 4 shall be obtained by dying the ground shade with disperse dyes and wet overprinting with disperse dyes. Transfer printing and the use of resin bonded pigrents are not pemiitted. 3.4.1 Matchinq. The color shall match the standard sample w

16、hen viewed under filtered tungsten lanps that approximate artificial daylight and that have a correlated color temperature of 7500 f 200K, with illumination of 100 - + 20 foot candles, and shall be a good match to the standard sample under incandescent lamplight at 2300 f 200K. camouflage covers sha

The finished cloth shall chaw fastness to light, perspiration, and laundering equal to or better than the standard sample or equal to or better than a rating of “good“ for light and perspiration, and “fair“ for laundering for each of the pattern areas. shall

Class 1, 2 and 4 shall be dpxi and/or printed to meet the requirements specified in 3.6.1. 3.6.1 Pattern exe

The pattern of the finished cloth shall reproduce the standard Woodland, Daytime Desert, or Desert (3 color) Camouflage pattern in respect to design, color placement, and registration of the respective areas. The warpise pattern repeat shall be 27.25, +1.25 -3.5 inches for the class 1-Woodla

23、nd Camouflage pattern, and 16.75, +1.25 -1.75 inches for the class 2-Daytime Desert Camouflage pattern and class 4-Desert Camouflage pattern. Each pattern area shall show solid coverage; skitteri- ness exceeding that Shawn by the standard sample in any of the printed areas will not be acceptable. WE

24、: If haloing or off register of the print pattern does not exceed 1/16 inch, the pattern execution is accepfzhle. (Usually occurs on the reverse side of the print). When the standard sample is not referenced for pattern execution, a pattern drawing shall be provided and the pattern shall match that

Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the Contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements (examinations and tests) as specified herein. Except as otherwise specifi

28、ed in the contract or purchase order, the contractor may use his awn or any other facilities suitable for the perform- ance of the inspection requirements specified herein, unless disapproved by the Goverment. inspections set forth in this specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to

Sampling inspection, as part of manufac- turing operations, is an acceptable practice to ascertain conformance to requirements, however, this does not authorize suimission of knuwn defective material, either indicated or actual, nor does it cornnit the Government to a

32、ccept defective material. 4.1.2 Certificate of cmliance. Where certificates of compliance are suhitted, the Government reserves the right to inspect such items to determine the validity of the certification. The absence of any inspection requirements in the specification 4.2 Classification of inspec

33、tions. The inspection requirements specified herein are classified as follaws: a. b. First article inspection (see 4.3). Quality conformance inspection (see 4.4). 4.3 First article inspection. When a first article is required (see 3.1 and 6.2), it shall be examined forthe defects specified in 4.4.2

34、and 4.4.3 and tested for the characteristics specified in 4.4.4. 4.4 Quality confonnance inspection. Unless otherwise specified, sampling for inspection shall be performed in accordance with MIL-STD-105. 4.4.1 Component and material inspection. In accordance with 4.1, components and materials shall

35、be inspected in accordance with all the requirements of referenced documents unless otherwise excluded, amended, modified, or qualified in this specification or applicable purchase doc=ument. 4.4.1.1 Component and material certification. A certificate of compliance may be acceptable as evidence that

36、 the yarn conforms to the requirements specified in 3.3.1. 4.4.2 End item visual examination. The end items shall be examined for the defects listed in table II. The defects found shall be counted regardiess of their proximity to each other except where two or mre defects represent a single local co
