Where tolerancescould cumulatively result in incorrect fits, the contractor shall providetolerances within those prescr

25、ibed on-the drawings to insure correct fit,assembly, and operation of the panel and curb components. Any data (e.g., shopdrawings, layouts, flow sheets, processing procedures, etc.) PrePared bY thecontractor or obtained from a vendor to support fabrication and manufacture ofthe production item shall

26、 be made available upon request, for inspection by thecontracting officer or the designated representative.3.2 First article. Unless otherwise specified (see 6.2), a sample shall besubjected to first article inspection (see 6.3) in accordance with 4.3.3.3 ateria. The materials shall be ag specified

27、herein and on thedrawings. Materials not specified shall be selected by the contractor, and shallbe sbjacted to all provisions of this specification.3.3.1 Vatetial eterioration prevention and control. The panel and curbcomponents shall be fabricated from compatible materials, inherently corrosionres

28、istant or treated to provide protection against the various forms of corrosionand deterioration that may be encountered in any of the applicable operating andstorage environments to which the panel and curb components may be exposed.3.3.1.1 J)issimilar metals. Dissimilar metals shall not be used in

29、intimatecontact with each other unless protected against galvanic corrosion. Dissimilarmetals and methods of protection are defined and detailed in MIL-STD-889.3.3.1.2 n of . The contractor shallidentify the specific material, material finish or treatment for use withcomponent and swbcomponent, and

30、shall make information available upon request tothe contracting officer or designated representative.3.3.2 Recovered materials. For the purpose of this requirement, recoveredmaterials are those materials which have been collected from solid waste andreprocessed to become a source of raw materials, a

31、s distinguished from virgin rawmaterials. The components, pieces and parts incorporated in the panel and curbcomponents may be newly fabricated from recovered materials to the maximum extentpracticable, provided the panel and curb components produced meets all otherrequirements of this .specificati.

32、on. Used, rebuilt or remanufactured components,pieces and parts shall not be incorporated in the panel and curb components.3*3*3 * Cadmium plating or cadmium plated parts shall not beused.3.4=1 EQL aluminum 3/8 inch thick and overshall be cut by routing or by high-speed saws. Shearing and sawing sha

33、ll be doneneatly and accurately.3.10.3 Riveted connections.3.10.3.1 Rivet holes. Holes for countersunk rivets shall be of such depth andangle that the rivet head shall fill the hole without projection or recession.3.10.3.2 Fiveting. Components shall be bolted in position before riveting.Jigs or fram

34、es shall be used to maintain alignment and tolerance. Rivets shallbe free from slag or scale when driven. Countersunk rivets shall be flush withthe surrounding surface. Heads of driven rivets shall be uniform in shape andconcentric with the rivet sharikaxis, and shall have full bearing on the surfac

35、esof the joined members. Rivets shall fill the holes in the joined members.Caulking or redriving of rivet heads shall not be permitted. Rivet tension shallnot be created by driving in incorrectly fitted members. A rivet with a headdeficient in size, not uniform in shape, off-center, loose, burned, o

36、r misshapenin any way shall be considered defective. Defective rivets shall be removedwithout injury to the joined metal. Automatic or squeeze-type riveters shall bepermitted for driving rivets, where practicable, provided the pressure employeddoes not cause distortion of the material. In lieu of au

37、tomatic or squeeze-typerivet machines, pneumatic rivet hammers may be used.3.10.3.2.1 tl rivets. Steel rivets may be driven hot or cold. Hot steelrivets shall be heated uniformly throughout their length and driven while at alight cherry color. Hot steel rivets in aluminum shall be driven at random i

38、norder to prevent overheating of the aluminum.3.10.3.2.2 Aluminum rivets.
