REQUIREMENTS 3.1 Material .

2、-Materials shall be in accordance with the appl cable drawings and specifications. 3.2 Parts and Assenb1ies.-The parts and assemblies shall comply with all requirements specified on Drawing 9239270 and with all requirements specified in applicable specifications. 3.3 Densi ty.-The densi ty after con

3、solidation shall be between 1.55 and 1.72. 3.4 Cracks or Spli ts (dwg. 9239271) .-No cracks or spli ts shall be permitted in the metal container walls when examined as specified in 4.3.3. have a moisture content no greater than 0.50 percent immediately prior to loading. 3.5 Moisture Content of RDX.-

4、The unconsol dated RDX shall 3.6 Workmanship.-Al 1 parts and asserblies shall be fabricated in a thorough, workmanlike manner. They shall be free of burrs, sharp edges, cracks, dirt, rust, and other foreign matter. The cleaning methods used shall not be injurious to any part, nor shall any parts be

5、contaminated by the cleaning agent. Exterior surface coatings shall be uni form and continuous except for a few light scratches not exposing base material. 4. 7、for the performance of the inspection requi rements speci fied herein, unless disapproved by the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the specifica- tion where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure supplies and services conform to pre

8、scribed requi rements. Reference shall be made to Standard MIL-STD-109 in order to define the terms used herein. The provisions of Specification MI L-A-2550 shall apply. Except as otherwise specified in the contract 4.1,l Submission of Production.-At the time each completed lot of items deliverable

9、under the contract is submitted to the Government for acceptance, the contractor shall supply the fol low- ing information accompanied by a certificate which attests that the informat ion provided is correct and appl i cable to the product bel ng submitted: a. A statement that the lot conpl es with

10、al 1 of the b. Drawing and specification nunber and date, together c. A statement that all material purchased by the quality assurance provisions specified in this specification. with indentification and date of changes thereto. contractor meets requi rements, when such material is controlled by Gov

11、ernment or commercial specifications referenced in any of the contractual documents, and the certificates of conformance are on file and available for review, d. Number of items in the lot. e. Date submit ted. The certificate shall be signed by a responsible agent of the certifying organization. The

12、 in tia1 certificate submi tted shall be substantiated by evidence of the agents authority to bind his principal. Substantiation of the agents authority will not be required with subsequent certificates unless, during the course of the contract, this authority is vested in another agent of the certi

13、fying organization. 4.2 Inspection Provisions 4.2,l Lot Formation,-The term “inspection lot“ as used in this specification is defined as an essentially homogeneous col- lection of uni ts of product from which a representat ive sample is drawn and inspected to determine conformance with applicable re

14、quirements. 15、ubsequent quantities pre- sented for inspection. Homogeneity shall be considered to exist provided the inspection lot has been produced by one manufacturer, In one unchanged process, in accordance with the same drawing, same drawing revision and complies with the provisions for sub- mission of produ

16、ct as specified in MIL-STD-105, Changes to the process, specifications or drawing not affecting safety, perfor- mance interchangeab i 1 i ty or storage, as determi ned by the Govern- ment, shall not be deemed to alter the homogeneity of an inspection lot. All material submitted for inspection in acc

17、ordance with this specification shall comply with the homgenei ty cri teria speci fied herein regardless of the type of sampling procedure which is being applied to determine conformance with requirements. Lot nunberi ng, as required, shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-1168. Each lot shall contain:

18、 a. Metal parts of one lot interfix number from one mnuf act u re r . b. RDX from one batch or blending of batches which re- sul ts in homogeneity of al 1 explos ives used in a loaded lot. 4.2.2 Examination.-The examinations listed in the following subparagraphs shall be performed on inspect ion lot

19、s (see 4.2.1) of the components or asserrblies designated in the applicable paragraph headings. Inspection for cri tical defects (and major defects, when so speci f ied) shall be 100 percent. for major and minor defects shall be in accccordance with MIL-STD-105 except that continuous sampling plans

20、in accordance with MIL-STD-1235 may be used if approved by the Government. Instead of applying the AQLs designated herein to the groups of major and minor defects listed, the contractor may elect to apply AQLs to individual defects using an AQL of 0.40 percent for each major defect and an AQL of 0.6

21、5 percent for each minor defect. When this method is elected, it shall be applied to all of the major and minor defects 1 isted in the appl i cable subparagraph of this section, except where 100 percent inspection is specified, and be documented as part of the contractors Inspection system. Equipmen

22、t necessary for the performance of the inspect ions 1 is ted shall be in accordance with 4.2.4. Sampling plans 4.2.2.1 Cup, Auxiliary Booster (see mandatory for use. and/or commercial equipment. 6,2,3 Army Designs.-Army designs are reflected on detailed drawings which completely depict al 1 the info

23、rmation necessary for the fabrication of the item of inspection equipment. The contractor need provide no design when an Army design is listed for an item of inspection equipment, Army designs fall into two basic classifica- tions; mandatory (designated MU“) and non-mandatory (indicated by drawing o

24、r Federal Stock Number). 1 ist references mandatory Army designs, the contractor shall com- ply with and use these designs accordingly. The contractor may, hwever, in connection with non-mandatory designs and with the ap- proval of the Government, design al ternate inspection equipment or use compar

25、able commercial equipment to faci li tate his operations, Such contractor prepared designs or commercial equipment selections must be approved by the Government prior to fabrication or procuring of the equipment, Designs shall be submitted for approval as speci- fied in 6.2.5. When an inspection equ

26、ipmnt 6.2.4 Contractor Designs .-Contractor designs are designs of inspection equipment for which the Government has assigned design responsi bi 1 i ty to the contractor. ported by detailed drawings which depict all information necessary to completely fabricate, calibrate and operate an item of insp

27、ection equipment. This requires that the necessary views, dimensions, ma- terials, finish, notes, operating and calibration instructions be properly depicted in accordance with approved practices to the ex- tent that further calculation or clarification will not be required. Unless otherwise specifi

28、ed, contractor designs may be developed on the format the contractor normally employs in his equipment design procedure provided such format reflects the detai 1 and information specified above, subject to the following controls: Al 1 submi tted contractor designs shall conform to MIL-D-1000, Catego

29、ry E, Form 2, For inspect ion equipment desi gns, the contractor shall refer to MIL-HDBK-204, Leg bi 1 i ty and reproduci bi 1 i ty chal 1 permi t conven- tional making of clearly understandable, high contrast reproduc- tions. Contractors shall submit three copies of final designs as a flat set. Des

32、ts classified as Critical .and Major shall be submitted for approval to the Command ng Officer, Picatinny Arsenal, ATTN: SMUPA-QA-A-F. All other designs of In- spection equipment shall be approved by the inspection element 6f the agency administering the contract; submission shall be as directed by

33、the Contracting Officer. Partial submission of fnspec- tion equipment designs is permissible and encouraged. However, the Arsenal completion date for design review will be based on the date of the final submission of designs.
