2、SCOPE This CID covers a vehicle floodlight which is controllable from outside the military vehicle. The floodlight provides localized directional illumination during night operations. 2. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS 2.1. Materials. Unless otherwise specified herein, the materials shall be in accordance w

3、ith the manufacturers material specifications for floodlights. The use of recovered materials made in compliance with the regulatory requirements is acceptable providing all the requirements of the CID are met (see 5.4). 2.1.1 Metals. Metals shall be of corrosion resistant type or shall be treated t

4、o resist corrosion. 2.2 Design and construction. shall be as specified in figure 1. The design and construction of the floodlight 2.2.1 Housing. The floodlight housing shall be of sufficient size and mechanical strength to withstand handling, transit, storage and installation without causing malfunc

5、tion or distortion. 2.2.2 Connectors. The floodlight shall be provided with two electrical connector assemblies, Army part number 8741492. 8、ecified in Army drawing number 7414388 or a suitable interchangeable switch. 2.2.4 Adapter kit. The floodlight shall be furnished with an adapter kit as specified in Army drawing number 10944440 or a suitable interchangeable adapter kit which meets the requirements of this CID. 2.2.5 - Lamp. 4572, P

9、AR 46 150 watts and 5.8 amperes lamp. The lamp shall be rated not less than 24 volts direct current (dc) and be a all glass unit sealed beam design. The floodlight shall be capable of accommodating an industry number 2.2.6 Locking device. Lockwashers, self-locking nuts, or other commercial locking d

10、evices shall be incorporated where required to prevent loosening of components and the floodlight form its attaching parts. 2.3 Beam pattern. 11、URE 2. Floodliuht beam Pattern. 2.4 Floodlight head rotation. The floodlight shall be capable of being rotated horizontally 175 degrees to the left and to the right of the center of rotation. It shall also be vertically adjustable upward 60 degreee and downward 30 degrees. Friction washers shall be

12、included to assure that the beam will maintain the vertical and horizontal direction selected by the operator. 2.5 Splash resistance. The floodlight shall conform to 2.3 and 2.4 after it has been subjected to a water spray of 12 hours. SAE 5575. This shall be verified by use of 2.6 Salt fog. The flo

13、odlight shall not show any signs of damage after being subjected to a 5% saline atmosphere for 200 hours. 2.6.1 Switch. test, then permitted to dry for 48 hours. The switch shall then be subjected to an additional 1,000 operations at 24 volts dc. Although water may enter the floodlight, no malfuncti

14、oning of the switch shall be observed and no water shall enter the switch. The switch shall be operated 1,000 times during the salt spray 2.7 Sand, dust and vibration. The floodlight shall conform to 2.4 when subjected to the requirements in SAE 5575. 2.8 Shock resistance. The floodlight shall not b

15、e damaged when exposed to three shocks in each direction applied along three mutually perpendicular axis of the test specimen (18 shocks). The test pulse shall be as specified in figure 3. The pulse shall have a duration of 6 milliseconds and a peak value of 75 times the acceleration of gravity. rei

17、ght shall conform to 2.3 and 2.4 when operated in temperatures of -65O to +160 Fahrenheit. 2.10 Identification markings. Identification markings shall be permanent and legible and shall include, as a minimum, the manufacturers identification code (CAGE) and part number, the part identification numbe

18、r PIN A52498-1, and the words “24 Volt“ and “U.S.“. 2.11 Installation. Each floodlight shall be furnished with complete instructions covering its installation. 2.12 Finish treatment. Cleaning, pretreating, priming and painting of the floodlight shall conform to an appropriate CARC paint system selec

19、ted from Army drawing number 12369000 for external application. Unless otherwise specified (see 5.2), the color of the paint final top coat shall be green number 383. 3. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 3.1 Responsibility for inspection. The contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspectio

20、ns (examinations and tests). 3.2 Contractor certification. The contractor shall certify and maintain substantiating evidence that the product offered meets the salient characteristics of this commercial item description and that the product conforms to the producers own drawings, specifications, wor

21、kmanship standards, and quality assurance practices. Items with known defects shall not be submitted for Government acceptance. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to the first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of t
