COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION RAILWAY MOTOR CARS, MAINTENANCE N, 3000 LB LOAD CAPACITY, 56 1/2 INCH G UGE The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this commerical item description in preference to Military Specification MIL-R-10651. This commerci

2、al item description covers the requirements for an 8-man railway maintenance motor car of 2000 pound load capacity meeting all applicable American Railway Engineering Association (AKEA) requirements. Salient Characteristics: Standard commercial engine (gas or diesel) sized to meet performance requir

3、ement-s set forth under “intended use“. Engine shall be enclosed with movable panels for ease of maintenance. speed in either direction of travel and with all gear lever positions clearly and durably labeled. Transmission capable of transmitting the full power of the engine with equal Electric start

4、ing. Industrial strength battery. Heavy-duty alternator. Brakes applied at all four wheels. Auxiliary parking brake inside cab. Elastomer or spring-type suspension. Heavy duty tapered roller bearings. Flanged steel wheels meeting AREA or AAR requirements. Cab enclosed by metal canopy top and flexibl

5、e side curtains that can be secured either open or closed from both inside and out with quick-release fasteners. Safety glass windshields front and rear. Dual electric windshield wipers front and rear. Upholstered seating for eight persons. Interior cab light. Sealed beam headlights and taillights f

17、ents, manufacturers catalogs, or brochures, and represents the latest production model. It shall have been in production, marketed, and in use for a minimum of one year. The introduction of normal product improvements is acceptable. from the standard commercial product if serious differences exist b
