2、. Intended use. This commercial item description covers a scale system for automatically weighing, overwrapping, pricing, and printing and affixing labels to prepackaged food items. 2. Salient characteristics, 2.1 Design and construction. The scale system shall consist of an automatic wrapping machi

3、ne, a digital computer scale, a thermal label printer with dispenser rack and the capacity for printing universal product code bar symbols, and a mobile rotary bin. The system shall have the capacity to automatically weigh, wrap, and affix item/pricing labels to var-ious size packages. The packages

4、shall range in different :zes up to 12 inches long by 10 inches wide by 5 inches high and shall be processed at the rate of 22 to 32 per minute. All operating control mechanisms for the system shall be conveniently located for the operator. 2.2 Wrapping machine, The automatic wrapping machine shall

5、be rigidly constructed of steel or aluminum and readily accessible for cleaning. The unit shall have the capacity to automatically weigh the prepackaged item then fcetl, measure, overwrap, cut, and heat seal the plastic krapping to the package. The unit shall be equipped with a weighing platter and

6、incoming And outgoing conveyor belts. The unit shall have the capacity to accommodate three or niore rolls of wrapping film of various widths up to i8 inches wide. The unit shall have a mechanism to stretch wrap the film complctcly around the package and shall be equipped with a mechanical film cutt

7、er and thermostatically controllcd heat sealer. The incoming powered conveyor belt shall feed packngcs onto the platter for weighing. This processing step shall require no pusher arm con:nc: with package until weighing has been completed, shall feed the weighed, wrapped, and labelcd package into the

The scale shall consist of: a modular component scale with counter type platform, a solid state controlling mechanism with electronic memory, and

10、a printer with universal bar code printing capability. designed for use in rooms with 10% to 95% relative humidity. The controlling mechanism shall incorporate a back-up battery for memory retention up to 20 hours in t e event of an external power failure. The sca1e”and printer shall and collect tot

11、al data for management use. The scale shall provide for a digital readout of unit price, total weight in pounds, and total price in dollars. The scale shall be electronically programmable with a minimum memory capability of 700 commodity descriptions with price lookups and 40 user- programmable grad

12、e descriptions. The size of the platform shall be essentially the same as the scalc base. Tlie scale shall weigh in increments from zero to 30 pounds. Prices per pound shall range from $0.01 through $99.99. Maximum computed cost per package shall be $999.99. Light emitting diodes shall display a min

13、imum of five digits. The printer shall auto- matically deliver and affix printed, heat sealed or pressure-sensitive labels displaying the date, with minimum of 26 characters of description, total weight, unit price, total dollars, 3,id universal product code bar code symbols.
