This commercial item description covers a corrosion- resisting steel measuring spoon set consisting of a tablespoon, teaspoon, 1/2-teaspoon and 1/4-teaspoon. 2. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS 2.1 The documents referenced

10、. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS 3.1 Desicrn and construction. The measuring spoon set shall consist of four spoons; one each of the following capacities: 1- tablespoon, 1-teaspoon, 1/2-teaspoon and 1/4-teaspoon. The spoons shall be formed from 300-series stainless steel with a minimum thickness of 0.028 i

11、nch (0.7 mm). The tablespoon shall measure 5 inches (12.7 cm) f 1/4 inch (0.6 cm) in length and each smaller size measuring spoon shall be proportionately shorter in length to allow nesting of the bowls. The spoon handle shall measure 3/8 inch (0.95 cm) minimum in width. A key ring or wire loop shal

12、l pass through a hole in each spoons handle to hold the set together. The handle may be embossed at the manufacturers option. The capacity tolerance shall be f 2 percent. The spoon set shall have a polished finish equivalent to a No. 2B or better as defined by the American Iron and Steel Institu

14、te handbook, ItFinishes for Stainless Steel.It 3.3 Markinq. Each spoon shall have its capacity stamped in legible lettering measuring 1/8 inch (3.2 mm) minimum height. 3.4 WorkmanshiD. The spoon set shall be free from sharp edges, slivers, burrs, deep scratches, pits and tool marks. The spoon set sh

15、all not be bent, damaged, or distorted. There shall be no defects which impair the durability, appearance, or serviceability of the item. a ? r 3.5 Reaulatorv reauirements. The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials in accordance with Public Law 94-580, as amended, to the maximu

16、m extent practicable. 3.6 Measurement svstem. The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regarded as the standard. The values stated in parentheses are for informational purposes only. 3.7 Metric rmoducts. Products manufactured to metric dimensions will be considered on an equal basis with thos

17、e manufactured using inch-pound units, providing they fall within tolerances specified using conversion tables contained in the latest revision of FED- STD-376, and all other requirements of this document are met. If a product is manufactured to metric dimensions and those dimensions exceed the tole

18、rances specified in the inch-pound units, a request should be made to the specification preparing activity for changes to this document. 3.8 Commercial item. The use of the term llcommercial item descriptiontg in this document does not imply that any item or items offered are not required to conform

19、 with all requirements specified herein. 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Certification. The contractor shall certify that the measuring spoon set meets the salient characteristics and the requirements of this commercial item description, and, except for any government unique requirements specifi

20、ed, conforms to the producers own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices, and is the same product offered for sale in the commercial marketplace, or is the same product that has been successfully been delivered to the government on a previous contract or purchase order.

Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the

23、contractor may use his own or any other facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirements specified herein, unless disapproved by the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the specification where such inspections are deemed

24、necessary to assure that supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements. 9 4.3 Samplinq. The levels of inspection and acceptable quality levels (AQLs) shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-105. 4.4 Lot formation. All spoon sets from the same manufacturer offered for delivery at one time shal

25、l be considered a lot for purposes of inspection. 4.5 Samplina for visual and dimensional examination. A random sample of spoon sets shall be selected from each lot in accordance with inspection level S-4, AQL 4.0 expressed in terms of defects per hundred units (dhu). The sample unit shall be one sp

26、oon set. The sample spoon set shall be visually and dimensionally examined to verify compliance with table I and the remainder of this commercial item description.
