38、stallation and use in hazardous (classied) locations, Class I, Divisions 1 and 2, Groups A, B, C, and D; Class II, Division 1, Groups E, F, and G; Class II, Division 2, Groups F and G; and Class III, Divisions 1 and 2, in accordance with the National Electrical Code, NFPA 70. 1.2 These requirements

39、also cover luminaires for installation and use in Class I, Zones 1 and 2, Groups IIA, IIB, IIB plus Hydrogen, and IIC, and Zone 20, 21 and 22 hazardous (classied) locations in accordance with the National Electrical Code, NFPA 70. 1.3 These requirements cover luminaires for use only under the follow

40、ing atmospheric conditions: a) A minimum ambient temperature of minus 25C (minus 13F); b) An oxygen concentration not greater than 21 percent by volume; and c) A nominal barometric pressure of one atmosphere. 2 General 2.1 Luminaires for use in hazardous locations shall also comply with the applicab

41、le requirements for luminaires for use in unclassied locations. 2.2 Low-pressure sodium lamps shall not be used in a luminaire for use in Division 1 hazardous locations. 3 Components 3.1 Except as indicated in 3.2, a component of a product covered by this standard shall comply with the requirements

42、for that component. 3.2 A component is not required to comply with a specic requirement that: a) Involves a feature or characteristic not required in the application of the component in the product covered by this standard, or b) Is superseded by a requirement in this standard. 3.3 A component shall

43、 be used in accordance with its rating established for the intended conditions of use. 3.4 Specic components are incomplete in construction features or restricted in performance capabilities. Such components are intended for use only under limited conditions, such as certain temperatures not exceedi
