3、000 Attached as Appendix A for your review and comment are proposed requirements for UL 508. Questions regarding interpretation of requirements should be directed to the responsible UL Staff. Please see Appendix B of this bulletin regarding designated responsibility for the subject product categorie

4、s. Please note that proposed requirements are of a tentative and early nature and are for review and comment only. Current requirements are to be used to judge a product until these requirements are published in final form. PRODUCTS AND INDUSTRIES AFFECTED BY THE PROPOSAL UL requests your assistance

5、 in identifying other products or industries that might be affected by the requirements contained in this bulletin. UL suggests that all suppliers or customers for these products and industries be made aware of these requirements prior to their proposed effective date. Also, please forward your sugg

6、estions to UL so that these products and industries may be identified in future bulletins. 13、ntroller is a self-protected combination motor controller that is operable only by manual means. A manual self-protected combination motor controller is also evaluated with one or more load side motor controllers operable by remote control means. The manual self-protected combination motor controlle

14、r is marked to identify suitable field installed motor controllers or is supplied together with the motor controller. The assembly is identified as a “self-protected combination motor controller“ or as a “combination motor controller“.“; and c) The product name, “Manual Self-protected Combination Mo

Cntlr.“ IMPACT The proposed 76.3.1, 77.5, 88.2.2, 88.2.3 and 88.2.4 represent new requirements for Listed manual self-protected combination motor controllers. Listed manual self-protected combination motor controllers will need to be evaluated to th

16、ese requirements and found suitable for use with one or more designated motor controllers. They will also need to be provided with additional markings to reflect their intended use. As such, currently Listed manual self-protected combination motor controllers will be subject to review and retesting.

17、 As the remaining proposed requirements provide new requirements for Type F combination motor controllers and clarify other requirements for combination motor controllers, no review or retest will be necessary. UL proposes that these revisions become effective upon publication. PROPOSALS 2.4 COMBINA

18、TION CONTROLLER - An open or enclosed device containing both a magnetic or solid- state controller and a disconnecting means. The controller may or may not contain overload protection, short circuit protection, or both. Where an individual controller is enclosed, it includes an external means for op

32、another. 77.5 A manual self-protected combination motor controller that is not operable by remote control shall comply with the performance requirements for Type E self-protected controllers while installed as an individual controller. The manual self-protected combination motor controller shall be

33、additionally evaluated for use with a motor controller that is operable by remote control, such as a contactor, in accordance with the performance requirements for: SUBJECT 508 -A8- JULY 28,2000 a) A Type E self-protected controller and marked as in 88.2.3; or b) A Type F combination motor controlle
