3、e furnace brazing of steels, copper, copper alloys, and heat- and corrosion-resistant alloysand other materials that can be adequately furnace brazed (the furnace brazing of aluminum alloys is addressed in AWSC3.7M/C3.7, Specification for Aluminum Brazing). This specification provides criteria for c
4、lassifying furnace brazedjoints based on loading and the consequences of failure and quality assurance criteria defining the limits of acceptabilityin each class. This specification defines acceptable furnace brazing equipment, materials, and procedures, as well as therequired inspection for each cl

8、es) of the AmericanWelding Society (AWS) are voluntary consensus standards that have been developed in accordance with the rules of theAmerican National Standards Institute (ANSI). When AWS American National Standards are either incorporated in, ormade part of, documents that are included in federal
9、 or state laws and regulations, or the regulations of other governmen-tal bodies, their provisions carry the full legal authority of the statute. In such cases, any changes in those AWS standardsmust be approved by the governmental body having statutory jurisdiction before they can become a part of
10、those laws andregulations. In all cases, these standards carry the full legal authority of the contract or other document that invokes theAWS standards. Where this contractual relationship exists, changes in or deviations from requirements of an AWS stan-dard must be by agreement between the contrac
11、ting parties.AWS American National Standards are developed through a consensus standards development process that bringstogether volunteers representing varied viewpoints and interests to achieve consensus.
