Scope*1.1 This specification covers metal insert fittings with splitring and compression nut (compression joint) and metal insertfittings with copper crimp rings (crimp joint) for four sizes ofcomposite pressure pipe. These fittings are intended for use in125 psi (690 kPa) cold- and hot-water di
4、stribution systemsoperating at temperatures up to and including 180F (82C).(When used in polyethylene/aluminum/polyethylene systemsthe maximum operating temperature is limited by the pipe to140F (60C) and where applicable 180F (82C). Includedare the requirements for materials, workmanship, burstpres
5、sure, sustained pressure, excessive temperature andpressure, temperature cycling tests, and markings to be used onthe fittings and rings. The fittings covered by this specificationare intended for use in potable water distribution systems forresidential and commercial applications, water service, un
6、der-ground irrigation systems, and radient panel heating systems,baseboard, snow- and ice-melt systems, and gases that arecompatible with the composite pipe and fittings.1.2 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regardedas standard. The values given in parentheses are mathematicalconversio
7、ns to SI units that are provided for information onlyand are not considered standard.NOTE 1The tables show the “nominal size” in millimetres with theinch size in parentheses. This exception is made to harmonize the“nominal size” with the two pipe standards, Specifications F1281 andF1282.1.3 The foll
