Scope1.1 This test method calculates the overall A-weightedsound power level emitted by small portable up
3、right, canister,combination vacuum cleaners, backpack vacuum cleaners,hard-floor machines, and central vacuum cleaner motorizednozzles intended for operation in domestic and commercialapplications.1.1.1 To determine the Sound Power Level of a centralvacuum at the power unit location refer to Test Me
4、thod F2544.1.2 A-weighted sound pressure measurements are per-formed on a stationary vacuum cleaner in a semi-reverberantroom. This test method determines sound power by a compari-son method for small noise sources, that is, comparison to abroadband reference sound source.1.3 This test method descri
5、bes a procedure for determiningthe approximate A-weighted sound power level of small noisesources. This test method uses a non-special semi-reverberantroom.1.4 Results are expressed as A-weighted sound power levelin decibels (referenced to one picowatt).1.5 The values stated in inch-pound units are

Significance and Use4.1 The test results enable the comparison of A-weightedsound emission from vacuum cleaners or hard-floor machineswhen tested under the condition of this test method.5. Test Room Requirements5.1 The test room shall be semi-rev
17、erberant. It shall containsufficiently little sound absorption material so the requirementsof 5.2 can be met. It should be large enough to meet thedimension requirements of 5.2.5.1.1 When a central vacuum cleaner motorized nozzle is tobe tested, the test room should be plumbed for a centralvacuum sy
18、stem according to the manufacturers instructionsusing standard 2.00-in. diameter thin-wall PVC tubing. Asingle wall inlet shall be located in the test room.5.2 Identify a location on the test room floor which canaccommodate six equally spaced microphone positions 60apart located at a height of 60 in
19、. (1.5 m) above the floor on a12 ft (3.6 m) diameter circle the center of which is the centerof the sound source. These positions shall result in a standarddeviation of the six sound pressure measurements of not morethan 2.3 dB when measuring the reference sound source. Thislocation is suitable for
20、the vacuum cleaner and reference soundsource for this test method. Refer to Figs. 1-4 for typicallayouts.5.2.1 Use the same microphone setup for both canister andbackpack vacuums. Backpack vacuums need to be mounted 32in. (800 mm) from the floor to the bottom of the backpackvacuum. The means of moun
21、ting shall not interfere with thebackpack operation or cause vibration when mounted.5.3 EnvironmentalAmbient test conditions within the testroom shall be controlled to within 70 6 5F (21 6 3C) and 30to 70 % relative humidity.5.4 Also, any room which has qualified in accordance withANSI S12.51/ISO 37
22、41, ANSI S12.53/ISO 3743, and ANSIS12.57/ISO 3747 may be used to measure the sound powerlevels of vacuum cleaners, motorized nozzles, or hard-floormachines.5.5 The measuredA-weighted sound pressure levels shall becorrected for the influence of background noise according toTable 1. When the steady ba
23、ckground-noise sound pressurelevel is more than 6 dB below the sound pressure level at eachmeasurement point, the measured A-weighted sound pressurelevels shall be corrected for the influence of background noiseaccording to Table 1. If this difference is less than 6 dB nocorrection is allowed and an
