3、rocedure for specimen prepa-ration and mounting when testing Flexible Fibrous GlassInsulation for Metal Buildings to assess flame spread andsmoke development as surface burning characteristics usingTest Method E84.1.2 This practice applies to products described in Specifi-cation C991.1.3 This practi
4、ce provides instructions for the testing of bothun-faced insulation (Specification C991 Type I) and faceinsulation (Specification C991 Type II).1.4 This practice does not provide pass/fail criteria that canbe used as a regulatory tool.1.5 Use the values stated in inch-pound units as the standardin r
5、eferee decisions. The values in the SI system of units aregiven in parentheses, for information only; see IEEE/ASTMSI-10 for further details.1.6 This fire standard cannot be used to provide quantitativemeasures.1.7 Fire testing of products and materials is inherentlyhazardous and adequate safeguards
6、 for personnel and propertyshall be employed in conducting these tests. Fire testinginvolves hazardous materials, operations and equipment.1.8 This practice gives instructions on specimen preparationand mounting but the fire-test-response method shall be con-ducted in accordance with Test Method E84
