14、o a 13/16-20 UNEF-2A outlet, for inflation of the raft tube and seat by a hand pump, MIL*-7742. molded patches for attachment of the valves to the supporting tube shall be cemented to the inside of the tube. flotation tube fabric shall be concentrically cemented around the valve on the outside of th

15、e tube. sealing patch shall be applied over the valve inside the tube so as to cover approximately l/2-inch on each side of the edge of the molded matress valve patch. Tape approximtely 3/8 inch wide shall be cemented around the edge of the opening in the tube for the valves so as to cover an equal

16、amount on each side of the tube fabric. Each mattress valve shall be provided with a figure-of-eight shaped flap of flotation tube fabric. concentrically secured beneath the washer of the valve. shall be folded over the valve and closed by means of a snap fastener conforming to AN227-49, -50, -51, a

17、nd -52. sufficient size to protect the raft from abrasion by the mattress valve. Threads shall conform to the requirements of The valves shall be located as shown in figure 1. 18、- Two patches of flotation tube fabric not less than5 inches in diameter shall be cemented, one to each side of the bulkhead, where the mattress valves would normally be in contact with the bulkhead when the raft is deflated. 3.6.3 Cylinder Valve Cover.- A bonnet shaped cover shall be provided for t

19、he carbon dioxide cylinder valve to protect the raft fabric from abrasion when the raft is foldea. flotation tube fabric and shall be cemented to the flotation tube. A snap fastener shall be usod to.close.the cover around the valve assembly. The cover shall be constructed of 3.6.4 Minifold.- The man

20、ifold shall be of the flush mounted tee- pattern type and shall contain two outlets, one into each compartment of the raft. 29、affect appearance or functionability. lha finished rafts shall be clean and free from any 3*lb.l Cementinq. -% In the construction of seams, sealirig areas, and attachments, rach surface to be joined shall be cleaned with a suit- able solvent, buffed lightly, and recleaned with solvert. A minimum of

30、 four coats of cement shall bd spplied to each surface. Tm first two coats shall be thinned with a suitable solvent and warked well into the area to bo joined. The last two coats shall be normal consistency and shall be applied smoothly. The cement shall be applied over the total contact area and sh

31、all extend beyond all seam tapes and attachments not less than 1/8 inch nor moro than 1/2 inch. 3.16.2 The cement shall be fresh and shall be aiixsd not mare than 8 hours prior to application. containers having congealed cement . Except as otherwise specified, the supplier may utilize his own facilities or any comercial laboratory acceptable to the bvernment. Inspection records of examinations and trsts shall be kept complete and available

The supplier shall provide for an adequato quality control of the coated fabric, the adhesive, and the attachments during the process of manu- facturo . 4.2 Classification of Tests.- The inspection and testing of rafts shall be classifie as follows: 4.3 a. 38、alification Testing 4.4.1 Qualification Test Samples.- Tho qualification test sample shall consist of ono raft, material samples, end roports as specified in the letter of authorization. 4.4.2 Qualification Required.- Prior to actual procuroment, tho product which this specification covers shall pas

39、s the qualification tests specifiod herein. If tho product is later modifiad in ary way, re-evalua- tion of the product to determine qualification shnll be required. 4.4.3 Qualification Tests.- Qualification tests shll consist of ail tests described under Test Mothods. 43 Test Conditions 4.5.1 Atmos

40、pheric Conditions.- Unloss otherwise spocified, all tests required by this specification shall be conductod at en atmospheric pressure of 28 to 32 inchea of morcury and a tomperatura of 77 degrees, plus or minus 18 dogroea, Fahrenheit and a relative humidity of 80 percent or 108s. If tho ambient tom

41、peraturr or barometric pressure at the end of the leakage tests aro different from the values recorded at the start of the tosts, corrections shall be made for the change in va lue s . 4.5.1.1 Temperature Corrections.- For each 1 degroe rise in tomperature, 0.031 psi 8hall be subtractod from the fin

42、al pressure reading. to the final pressure reading. For each 0.10 inch of mercury . 45.2 Test Prossure.- Pressures shall be measured by means of a mercury manomoter and converted to psi by multiplying inches of mercury by 0.49.
