PL 43S (for material heat treated to a tensile strength of 90/110 kgf/mm 2 ). NOTE 2 Sheet and strip of the same compo
7、sition at a higher strength level are covered by the latest edition of BS S 535. 1 Inspection and testing procedure 1.1 This British Standard shall be used in conjunction with the relevant sections of the latest edition ofBSS500. 1.2 The thickness of the material shall be in accordance with the late
8、st edition of BS S 500. Material which has been finally hot rolled prior to softening or hardening and tempering shall satisfy the tolerances applicable to hot-rolled sheet and strip. Material which has been finally cold rolled prior to softening or hardening and tempering shall satisfy the toleranc
9、es applicable to cold-rolled sheet and strip. 1.3 Sulphur printing or deep etching tests. Samples shall be selected in accordance with the latest edition of BS S 500. 2 Process of manufacture The material shall be manufactured by an electric process unless otherwise agreed between the manufacturer a
10、nd the purchaser in accordance with the latest edition of BS S 500. 3 Chemical composition The steel shall contain: 4 Surface dressing The material shall be overall dressed in accordance with the requirements of the latest edition of BS S 500. 5 Condition 5.1 The material shall be supplied in one of
11、 the following conditions after hot or cold rolling: 1) Softened. 2) Hardened and tempered. 5.2 The condition required shall be stated on the order. Unless otherwise agreed the method of rolling shall be at the option of the manufacturer but shall be stated in the release note. 5.3 Finished parts sh
12、all be supplied finally heat treated. Element % min. max. 13、l or water from a temperature of 870 10 C. 2) Temper at a temperature of not less than 520 C. 7 Decarburization The decarburization determined in accordance with the latest edition of BS S 500, shall be not more than 0.04 mm (0.0015 in.) 8 Mechanical properties 8.1 The mechanical properties obtained
