National bodies that are members of ISO or IEC participate in the developme

It was adopted by Joint Technical Committee ISO/IEC JTC 1, Information technology, Subcommittee SC 22, Programming languages, their environments and system software interfaces, in parallel with its approval by the ISO/IEC national bodies, under the “fast-track

19、 procedure” defined in the Partner Standards Development Organization cooperation agreement between ISO and IEEE. POSIX.1-2008 is intend

26、ed to be used by both application developers and system implementors and comprises four major components (each in an associated volume): g120 General terms, concepts, and interfaces common to all volumes of this standard, including utility conventions and C-language header definitions, are included

27、in the Base Definitions volume. g120 Definitions for system service functions and subroutines, language-specific system services for the C programming language, function issues, including portability, error handling, and error recovery, are included in the System Interfaces volume. g120 Definitions

28、for a standard source code-level interface to command interpretation services (a “shell”) and common utility programs for application programs are included in the Shell and Utilities volume. g120 Extended rationale that did not fit well into the rest of the document structure, which contains histori
