It is the English language version of EN25077:1993 Textiles Determination of dimensional change in washing and drying published by the European Committee for Standardization and is identical with ISO5077:1984. This standard supersedes BS5807

10、:1987 which is withdrawn and which was also identical with ISO5077:1984. As a consequence of implementing the European Standard this British Standard is renumbered as BS EN25077. This edition makes no technical changes to the standard. EN 25077:1993 has been approved by CEN member bodies under the U

11、nique Acceptance Procedure. A British Standard does not purport to include all the necessary provisions of a contract. Users of British Standards are responsible for their correct application. 22、ard specifies a method for determination of the dimensional change of fabrics, garments or other textile articles when subjected to an appropriate combination of specified washing and drying procedures. In the case of textile articles or deformable materials, it is necessary to exercise all possible

23、 caution in the interpretation of the results. 2 References ISO 139, Textiles Standard atmospheres for conditioning and testing. 24、g and drying procedures. 3 Principle The specimen is conditioned in the specified standard atmosphere and measured before subjection to the appropriate washing and drying procedures. After drying, conditioning and remeasuring of the specimen, the changes in dimensions are calculated. 4 Apparatus and

25、 reagents As specified in ISO3759 and in ISO6330. 5 Atmospheric conditions The atmospheric conditions required for pre-conditioning and testing are specified in ISO139. 6 Test specimens 6.1 The selection, dimensions, marking and measuring of test specimens are specified in ISO3759. 6.2 The number of

26、 specimens to be tested is determined by the precision of the results required. In this test method, it is suggested that four specimens of each sample be tested and that these specimens be washed in two separate wash loads with two specimens per wash load (replicates per run). See the Annex. 6.3 In

27、 certain circumstances, it may be desirable not to test four specimens, and fewer specimens may be used. 7 Procedure 7.1 Determine the original length and width dimensions, as appropriate, after the specimens have been pre-conditioned, conditioned and measured according to the procedure specified in

28、 ISO3759. 7.2 Wash and dry the specimens according to one of the procedures specified in ISO6330, as agreed between the interested parties. 7.3 After washing and drying, condition and measure the specimens and calculate the dimensional change of the specimens according to the procedure specified in

29、ISO3759. 8 Expression of results 8.1 Calculate the mean changes in dimensions in both the length and width directions in accordance with the arrangement in ISO3759 as follows: 8.2 Express the average dimensional changes to the nearest 0,5%. 31、include the following particulars: a) a statement that the methods adopted for preparation, marking and measuring were in accordance with this International Standard, and details of any additional measurements made; b) information on the test method used, including details of the washing, water remo

32、val and drying procedure, pressing, or other finishing procedure employed, unless this information can be given by a reference to an International Standard; c) the number of specimens washed and dried; d) for fabric specimens, the average dimensional change in the length (warp or wale) and the avera

33、ge dimensional change in the width (weft or course); e) for garments, the description, make and size of the garment tested; f) for garments, an adequate description of each measuring position and the dimensional change at each position for each garment tested.EN 25077:1993 BSI 08-1999 5 Annex Confid

34、ence limits of the mean (Applicable to fabrics only) The following table gives estimates of 95% confidence limits of the mean which can be expected in the mean results of linear percentage dimensional change, when the number of runs and replicates per run vary.
