8、nlight resistant, 60, 90, 150, 300 or600 V radio head cable rated 60, 75, or 90C dry, and 60, 75, or 90C wet for supplying power, data, andsignal from a base station to remote radio heads on a tower or rooftop.2 Units of Measurement2.1 Values stated without parentheses are the requirement. Values in
9、 parentheses are explanatory orapproximate information.3 Undated References3.1 Any undated reference to a code or standard appearing in the requirements of this standard shall beinterpreted as referring to the latest edition of that code or standard.CONSTRUCTION4 Material4.1 In addition to being sta
10、ted in the inch/pound units that are customary in the USA, each of therequirements in this outline are also stated in units that make the requirement conveniently useable incountries employing the various metric systems (practical SI and customary). Equivalent although, notnecessarily exactly identi
11、cal results are to be expected from applying a requirement in USA or metricterms. Equipment calibrated in metric units is to be used when a requirement is applied in metric terms.4.2 Only materials that meet the intent of the requirement for the particular use shall be employed in awire. Wires shall
12、 be made and finished with the degree of uniformity and grade of workmanship that arepracticable in a well-equipped factory.4.3 Each material used in a wire shall be compatible with all of the other materials used in the wire.5 Conductors5.1 General5.1.1 Only stranded conductors of tinned or uncoate
13、d copper shall be used in a cable. Individualconductor strands shall consist of materials complying with the Standard Specification for Soft orAnnealed Copper Wire, ASTM B3 or the Standard Specification for Tin-Coated Soft or Annealed CopperWire for Electrical Purposes, ASTM B33.OCTOBER 29, 2014UL 2

Conductorsshall comply with the following standards:a) Standard Specification f
15、or Concentric-Lay-Stranded Copper Conductors, Hard, Medium-Hard, or Soft, ASTM B8,b) Standard Specification for Rope-Lay-Stranded Copper Conductors Having Bunch-StrandedMembers, for Electrical Conductors, ASTM B172; orc) Standard Specification for Rope-Lay-Stranded Copper Conductors Having Concentri
16、c-Stranded Members, for Electrical Conductors, ASTM B173.d) Standard Specification for Bunch-Stranded Copper Conductors for Electrical Conductors,ASTM B 174; ore) Standard Specification for 19 Wire Combination Unilay-Stranded Copper Conductors forSubsequent Insulation, ASTM B787.5.2.2 An 18 or 16 AW
17、G copper conductor shall comply with the requirements for stranded fixture wireconductors in the Standard for Fixture Wire, UL 66. All other conductors shall comply with therequirements in the Standard for Thermoplastic-Insulated Wires and Cables, UL 83. Alternatively, aninsulated conductor pair may
18、 consist of an individually insulated conductor with an additional insulated,concentrically, helically distributed conductor over the inner conductor insulation. The length of lay ofstrands of this helically distributed conductor shall not exceed 17.5 times the diameter measured over theconcentric c
19、onductor. A longer length of lay shall be allowed provided the tag is marked as shown in11.1(l).5.2.3 The direct-current resistance of every conductor including any concentric conductor shall complywith the requirements in the Standard for Thermoplastic-Insulated Wires and Cables, UL 83 except thatt
20、he direct-current resistance of an 18 or 16 AWG conductor shall comply with the requirements in theStandard for Machine-Tool Wires and Cables, UL 1063.6 Insulation and Jacket6.1 Cable rated 90C The insulation and individual nylon jacket shall comply with the thickness andother requirements for Type
21、THW-2, THHW, THWN-2 or THHN/THWN as specified in the Standard forThermoplastic-Insulated Wires and Cables, UL 83. An 18 or 16 AWG conductor has the same thicknessas a 14 AWG.6.2 Cable rated 75C The insulation and individual jacket shall comply with the thickness and otherrequirements for Type THW, T
22、HWN, THW-2, THHW, THWN-2, or THHN/THWN as specified in theStandard for Thermoplastic-Insulated Wires and Cables, UL 83. An 18 or 16 AWG conductor has thesame
