3、SUBJECT 2069 3FOREWORDA. This Outline of Investigation contains basic requirements for products covered by UnderwritersLaboratories Inc. (UL) under its Follow-Up Service for this category within the limitations given below andin the Scope section of this Outline of Investigation. They are subject to
4、 revision as further experience andinvestigation may show is necessary or desirable.B. The observance of these requirements by a manufacturer is one of the conditions of the continuedcoverage of the manufacturers product.C. A product which complies with the text of this Outline of Investigation will
5、 not necessarily be judged tocomply with the Outline of Investigation if, when examined and tested, it is found to have other featureswhich impair the level of safety contemplated by these requirements.D. A product that contains features, characteristics, components, materials, or systems new or dif
6、ferentfrom those covered by the requirements in this Outline of Investigation, and that involves a risk of fire orof electric shock or injury to persons shall be evaluated using appropriate additional component andend-product requirements to maintain the level of safety as originally anticipated by
7、the intent of thisOutline of Investigation. A product whose features, characteristics, components, materials, or systemsconflict with specific requirements or provisions of this Outline of Investigation does not comply with thisOutline of Investigation. Revision of requirements shall be proposed and
8、 adopted in conformance with themethods employed for development, revision, and implementation of this Outline of Investigation.E. UL, in performing its functions in accordance with its objectives, does not assume or undertake todischarge any responsibility of the manufacturer or any other party. Th

UL shall notincur any obligation or liability for damages, including consequential damages, arising out of or inconnection with the use, interpretation of, or reliance upon this Outline of Investigation.F. Many tests required by the Outline of Investigations of UL are
11、 inherently hazardous and adequatesafeguards for personnel and property shall be employed in conducting such tests.OCTOBER 9, 2001SUBJECT 20694INTRODUCTION1 Scope1.1 These requirements cover battery holders intended for, but not limited to lithium batteries, emergencylighting and power batteries, an
12、d sealed nickel-cadmium batteries, which hold coin and AAA to D size celltype batteries.1.2 These holders are intended for use in circuits where the charging voltage to the holder does notexceed Class 2 levels defined in the National Electrical Code, NFPA 70.1.3 These requirements are intended to re
13、duce the risk of fire or explosion when the batteries are usedin a product. The performance tests also address the acceptability of the battery holders. The finalacceptability of these battery holders is dependent on their use with the batteries in a complete productthat complies with the requiremen
14、ts applicable to products in which the product is intended to be used.2 General2.1 Unless otherwise specified, the battery holder manufacturer may elect to specify the type or types ofbattery a battery holder is intended for use with.2.2 Values stated without parentheses are the requirement. Values
15、in parentheses are explanatory orapproximate information.2.3 The battery holder manufacturer is to specify the current and voltage ratings of the battery holder.CONSTRUCTION3 General3.1 The construction of the battery holder shall comply with the requirements applicable to the type ortypes of batter

A battery holder shall withstand vibration with arepresentative cell, provided by the manufacturer, wit

The boardsare then mounted to a variable speed vibration machine having an amplitude of 0.01 in. (0.25 mm). Thefrequency of vibration is to be varied from 10 to 35 cycles/secon

If no resonant frequency is obtained, the samples are to be vibrated at 35 c/s for a period of 4 h.OCTOBER 9, 2001 SUBJECT 2069 54.3 For testing p
