The drawing may be attached to the unit or, if separate, shall be referenced in themark

4、ing attached to the unit by the name or trademark of the manufacturer, drawing number, and issuedate and/or revision level.Exception No. 1: For products intended only to be installed by a trained installer the installationinstructions containing the information required by 79.2 - 79.7 is not prohibi

5、ted from being made availableby one or more of the following means:a) Electronic instructions within the basic product software;b) Electronic media such as website, CD-ROM, DVD, etc.; orc) When the instructions are included as described in (a) or (b), the instructions shall bereferenced in the produ

6、ct marking by:1) Name or trademark of manufacturer,2) Drawing number, (This may be a root or home page and not aspecific location), and/or equivalent identification, and3) Issue date, revision level, and/or release date, or equivalent information such asdate of manufacture or firmware level, which c

7、orrelates the applicable digital manualrevision to the products current hardware/software. (For example, the product ismarked with the date of manufacture or firmware level and the digital manualreferences the date or firmware range to which the manual is applicable).Exception No. 2: Installation In

8、structions for products that require an Internet connection for initialconfiguration containing the information required by 79.2 - 79.7 is not prohibited from being madeavailable by the means provided in 79.1, Exception No. 1, given the requirements of one of the followingare met:a) Where hardcopy i

9、nstallation instructions are not provided, the product annunciates anaudible trouble signal when the product is energized until the product is setup; orUL COPYRIGHTED MATERIAL NOT AUTHORIZED FOR FURTHER REPRODUCTION ORDISTRIBUTION WITHOUT PERMISSION FROM ULb) A constant visual signal visible to the

10、user after the product is installed is permitted to beused in lieu of the audible trouble signal required by 79.1 Exception No. 2 (a) when thefollowing information is provided in hardcopy with the product:1) Statement the device must be installed and configured before it is to be used,2) Statement t

11、he full manual is to be obtained before installation is started and thewebsite or online location where it is available, and3) Description of the visual indication given and its meaning80.4 Products intended to be installed by a trained installer and utilizing electronic media for theinstallation in

12、structions per Section 79, shall include information on how to receive a printed copy of theinstallation instructions either via marking on the product or hardcopy provided with the product.RATIONALE FOR DECISION:This exception to hard copy manuals expands on the current 79.1 exception for trained i

13、nstallers. Therequirements stated here, for devices requiring an internet connection only, confirm the internet isavailable for that specific installation.
