4、n 152 mm (6inches) when all of the following conditions are met:a) The wire described in 6.1.4.3.1 shall be of a solid construction only,b) The device shall be manufactured with the conductor factory installed and formed asintended to be field installed in the specified end use equipment,c) The cond

5、uctor is of sufficient length for connection in the specified end-use equipment,d) The device shall be marked for use only in specific end-use equipment. This informationmay be provided with the installation instructions if the device is marked to reference theappropriate publication,e) Instructions

6、 for installation shall be provided with the device unless completely obvious,f) The acceptability of the device shall be determined in the end-use equipmentRATIONALE FOR DECISION:This CRD is intended to allow a shorter minimum length of a field wiring conductor of a circuit breaker.The present requ

7、irement in UL 489 for the length of the field wiring conductor is, “at least 152 mm (6inches)”. With the increased use of circuit breakers requiring a field installed connection to the neutral bar,manufacturers have requested other solutions by providing a design with a shorter conductor that isinte

8、nded to be installed into specific end-use equipment.
