10、l National Differences included in the UL adoptionof the corresponding IEC standard.In its IEC-based standards, UL uses the notations indicated below to identify national difference type, andthese types are additionally noted in this document. The standard may not use all types of thesedeviations.D1
11、 - These are deviations which are based on basic safety principles and requirements, elimination ofwhich would compromise safety for U.S. consumers and users of products.D2 - These are deviations based on safety practices. These are deviations for IEC requirements that maybe acceptable, but adopting
12、 the IEC requirements would require considerable retesting or redesign on themanufacturers part.DC - These are deviations based on the component standards and will not be deleted until a particularcomponent standard is harmonized with the IEC component standard.DE - These are deviations based on edi
13、torial comments or corrections.DR - These are deviations based on the national regulatory requirements.Each national difference contains a description of what the national difference entails. Typically one of thefollowing words is used to explain how the text of the national difference is to be appl
14、ied to the base IECtext:Addition / Add - An addition entails adding a complete new numbered clause, subclause, table,figure, or annex. Addition is not meant to include adding select words to the base IEC text.Deletion / Delete - A deletion entails complete deletion of an entire numbered clause, subc
15、lause,table, figure, or annex without any replacement text.Modification / Modify - A modification is an altering of the existing base IEC text such as theaddition, replacement or deletion of certain words or the replacement of an entire clause,subclause, table, figure, or annex of the base IEC text.

In Canada thePart 1 standard applic
17、able is CAN/CSA E60730-1, Automatic electrical controls forhousehold and similar use Part 1: General Requirements, and in the U.S. the Part 1standard applicable is UL 60730-1A , Automatic electrical controls for household andsimilar use Part 1: General Requirements, 3rd Edition.This standard applies
18、 to newly produced automatic burner ignition systems and systemcomponents constructed entirely of new, unused parts and materials for the automaticcontrol of burners for one or more of the following fuels:oil,natural gas,manufactured gas,mixed gas,liquefied petroleum gas or,LP gas-air mixturesThis s
19、tandard is applicable to a complete burner ignition system, a separate programmingunit, an oxygen depletion safety shutoff system and components that perform one or moreof the following functions:a) Ignite the fuel at the main burner(s), or at the pilot burner(s) so it can ignitethe main burner(s);b
20、) Prove the presence of either the ignition source, the main burner flame, orboth;c) Automatically act to shut off the fuel supply to the main burner(s), or to thepilot and main burner(s), when the supervised flame or ignition source is notproved; andd) Automatically act to shut off the gas supply t
21、o the pilot and main burner(s),when the oxygen content of the room in which the equipment is installed isreduced below a predetermined level.Components can be, but are not limited to: automatic controls; pilot burners,thermoelectric devices, electrodes, ignition devices, ignition sources and flame d
