21、RMISSION FROM UL INTRODUCTION 1 Scope 1 effective November 11, 2002 1.1 The test method described in these requirements is intended to evaluate the re resistive performance of electrical cables as measured by functionality during a period of re exposure, and following exposure to a hose stream. 1.2
22、To maintain the functionality of electrical cables during a re exposure the cables are tested using a re resistive barrier. The re resistive barrier is the cable jacketing if the jacketing is designed to provide re resistance. If the cable jacketing is not designed to provide re resistance, the elec
23、trical cables are either placed within a re resistive barrier or installed within an hourly rated re resistive assembly (see 1.4). Fire resistive cables intended to be installed with a non-re resistive barrier (such as conduit) are tested with the non-re resistive barrier included as part of the tes
24、t specimen. Otherwise re resistive cables incorporating a re resistive jacket are tested without any barrier. 1.3 To demonstrate each cables ability to function during the test, voltage and current are applied to the cable during the re exposure portion of the test, and the electrical and visual per
