17、le LAN file-server or the permanent storage device of a multiple-user computer in such a manner that this Standard may only be accessed by one user at a time and for which there is no possibility of multiple concurrent access. The original distribution diskette should be stored in a safe place. If a

18、 multiple-user version Standards-on-Diskette was purchased, one copy of the Standard may be stored on a single LAN file-server, or on the permanent storage device of a multiple-user computer. The number of concurrent users shall not exceed the number of users authorized for the Standards-on-Diskette

19、 version. The original distribution diskette should be stored in a safe place. Standards-on-Diskette are intended for on-line use, such as for viewing the requirements of a Standard, conducting a word search, and the like. Only one copy of the Standard may be printed from each single- user version o

(UL) under its Follow-Up Service for this category within the limitations given below and in the Scope section of this Standard. These requirements are based upon

33、sound engineering principles, research, records of tests and field experience, and an appreciation of the problems of manufacture, installation, and use derived from consultation with and information obtained from manufacturers, users, inspection authorities, and others having specialized experience

34、. They are subject to revision as further experience and investigation may show is necessary or desirable. B. The observance of the requirements of this Standard by a manufacturer is one of the conditions of the continued coverage of the manufacturers product. C. A product which complies with the te

40、wers, rated less than 50 volts direct current (dc), of the centrifugal axial flow and propeller types intended to be used on board a vessel of any size. The blowers are intended to provide mechanical ventilation for engine compartments, galleys, and similar areas. 1.2 The blowers covered by these re

41、quirements are intended for installation in accordance with the applicable requirements of the Standard for Fire Protection of Pleasure and Commercial Motor Craft, NFPA 302; and the United States Coast Guard. 1.3 These requirements do not cover blowers intended for use in hazardous locations aboard

42、inspected vessels subject to United States Coast Guard regulations. 1.4 These requirements cover ignition-protected blowers that may be required on boats under 65 feet (19.8 m) in length. 1.5 These requirements cover blowers intended for continuous duty 1.6 A combination pump and blower is judged ac

43、cording to these requirements and the requirements for marine electrically operated pumps for nonflammable liquids, UL 11 13. 1.7 A product that contains features, characteristics, components, materials, or systems new or different from those covered by the requirements in this Standard, and that in

44、volves a risk of fire, electric shock, or injury to persons shall be evaluated using the appropriate additional component and end-product requirements as required to maintain the level of safety as originally anticipated by the intent of this Standard. A product whose features, characteristics, comp

45、onents, materials, or systems conflict with specific requirements or provisions of this Standard is not judged to comply with this Standard. Where appropriate, revision of requirements are proposed and adopted in conformance with the methods employed for development, revision, and implementation of

46、this Standard. 2 Glossary 2.1 For the purpose of this standard, the following definitions apply. 2.2 CONTINUOUS DUTY BLOWER - A blower that can operate continuously at a voltage of 120 percent of its rated nominal voltage. 2.3 DESIGN VOLTAGE - A voltage of 113.3 percent of the rated nominal voltage

48、source ignites a flammable hydrocarbon mixture inside the blower; b) The electrical arc, spark, or heat source has insufficient electrical or heat energy to ignite the flammable mixture; or c) The source of ignition is hermetically sealed from the surrounding mixture. An ignition-protected blower do

49、es not necessarily comply with the requirements for an explosion-proof device as applied to U. S.
