3、d in Recessed Use Abnormal TemperatureTestDECISION:The description of this material in UL 1029 shall be revised to match the description in UL 1598, asfollows:22.3.1 Cellulosic insulation is to be rated for a thermal resistance of 3.75 - 3.85 R/inch with a conditioneddensity of 2.0 - 2.5 pounds per
4、cubic foot (32 - 40 kg/m3) Thermal insulation of the loose-fill type shall beconditioned to the density specified by the insulation manufacturer to obtain a required rated thermalresistance of Rsi 0.56 to 0.678 (R3.2 to R3.85).22.3.2 The insulation is to be conditioned through a blowing or vacuum ma
5、chine before being placedaround the ballast under test. The blowing or vacuum machine shall be capable of conditioning theinsulation to the density in 22.3.1 Thermal insulation shall be conditioned, if required, by a blowing orvacuum machine before it is placed around the test ballast. Density shall
6、 be verified by placing insulationinto a box of known volume and weight, and then weighing the filled box. The difference in weight betweenthe empty and full box, divided by the volume, shall be the insulation density.22.3.3 Insulation that has been conditioned through a blowing machine may be blown
