3、ph Reference: 7A.2.2Quick-Connect Terminal ExceptionDECISION:7A.2.2 Quick-connect terminals, both connectors and tabs, for use with one or two 22 - 10 AWG copperconductors, having nominal widths of 2.8, 3.2, 4.8, 5.2, and 6.3 mm (0.110, 0.125, 0.187, 0.205, and 0.250in), intended for internal wiring

4、 connections in appliances, or for the field termination of conductors to theappliance, shall comply with the Standard for Electrical Quick-Connect Terminals, UL 310.Exception No. 3: For portable attended appliances, for connections where the breaking of the connectionwould not reduce the required e

5、lectrical spacings (clearance and creepage), the connection shall complywith the following pull test and the temperature test requirements of Section 37, where the temperature ofthe internal wiring is recorded at the point where it is terminated at the connector (see Table 37.1, items10 and 11, and

6、notes b, c, and d):Connectors that terminate a wire shall withstand a pull of 5 N applied for 10 sec through thewire in the opposite direction from the force used to apply the connector. Neither the connectornor the wire shall become disconnected. In the case where the direction of the application i

7、s notin line with the exit direction of the wire, then the force shall be applied in both directions, oneat a time.RATIONALE FOR DECISION:This Certification Requirement Decision is intended to document the method of evaluating factory installedconnections used in portable attended appliances.Copyrig
