This document is part of the series of fiber optic connector intermate
20、ability standards included within TIA/EIA-604, Fiber Optic Connector Intermateability Standards (FOCIS). 1. INTRODUCTION 1.1 Scope FOCIS 7 presents the intermateability standard for connectors designated Type SG, and is issued as an addendum to TIA/EIA 604, Fiber Optic Connector Intermateability Sta
21、ndards. The provisions of TIA/EIA 604 apply to this document. 1.2 Objective The requirements in FOCIS 7 have been selected with the objective of ensuring that any combination of Plugs and Sockets conforming to the requirements of FOCIS 7 will mechanically intermate, and that intermated connector ass
22、emblies will meet their common level of performance. Intermateability standards define the minimum physical attributes of mating connector components. Fully dimensioned components are not within the scope or intent of FOCIS 7. The common level of performance of an intermated connector assembly is th
23、e least demanding set of performance requirements in the separate performance specifications of each of the products in the assembly; see TIA/EIA 604. The following factors, however, shall be considered in the application of common performance: 1. Common performance does not account for intrinsic lo
24、ss between the fibers being joined; see TIA/EIA 604, section 6. There are also limitations based on the options that are available. 1. Fiber Diameter - Single-mode fibers have an established diameter tolerance conforming to a TIA product specification. Multimode fibers have an established diameter t
