SCOPEThis SAE Aerospace Recommended Practice (ARP) provides guidance for the design and location of cabin crew stations, including emergency equipment installations at or near such stations, so as t

7、o enable the cabin crew to function effectively in emergency situations, including emergency evacuations.Recommendations regarding design of cabin crew stations apply to all such stations; recommendations regarding location apply to those stations located near or adjacent to floor level exits.2. 17、em occupied by a cabin crew member, adjacent emergency equipment installations and the immediate passageway required for an emergency evacuation.DIRECT VIEW: Direct (line of sight) visual contact with cabin area/main aisle(s), which enables the cabin crew member to be made aware of passenger needs r

19、compliance, may be applied if it is documented and justified.3. RECOMMENDATIONSThe following recommendations apply to the design and location of cabin crew stations, including related equipment and systems.3.1 Cabin crew stations shall be located so that cabin crew can assist cabin occupants with ra

20、pid egress during an emergency evacuation, and can respond to in-flight emergencies.3.2 At least one cabin crew station shall be located near each floor level exit to ensure that the cabin crew can access the exit, assess the outside conditions, and initiate evacuation within 15 seconds. Another loc

21、ation is acceptable if the emergency egress of passengers would be enhanced with that location.3.2.1 To the extent possible without compromising proximity to a required floor level exit, cabin crew stations shall be located so as to provide restrained cabin crew with a maximum direct view of the cab

22、in for surveillance (Reference 14 CFR/CS 25.785 and AC 25.785-1).3.2.2 In addition, means shall be provided in the immediate vicinity of the cabin crew station to assist an unrestrained cabin crew member with visual assessment of the area outside of the associated exit.3.3 Legible “No Smoking and/or

23、 Fasten Seat Belt” signs, other required illuminated signs, and call light indicators shall be in full view of the cabin crew member(s) occupying any station. The signs and lights shall be visible under all lighting conditions during normal operation.3.4 Emergency equipment required to perform emerg

24、ency duties.3.4.1 This emergency equipment shall be positioned proximate to the cabin crew station except that another location is acceptable if the safety of passengers and crew would be enhanced by that location, e.g. fire extinguishers located near galleys and lavatories.3.4.2 This emergency equi

25、pment shall be placed in the same location at all cabin crew stations with the same configuration.3.4.3 Emergency equipment that shall be readily accessible to a seated cabin crew member is a personal flotation device, primary oxygen and a flashlight.3.5 When a cabin crew station requires a communic

26、ation device, such as a microphone, for intercommunication, public address and evacuation alarm systems, the device shall be accessible by a cabin crew member when seated with their restraint system fastened.3.6 Cabin and workstation lighting controls should be accessible by a cabin crew member when

27、 seated with their restraint system fastened.3.7 Equipment located at or near the cabin crew station shall be secured so that access to and release of the equipment from its security means can be accomplished with one hand and a self-apparent motion or action.3.7.1 Equipment shall not be located abo

28、ve the head of the seated cabin crew member unless the installation is designed to preclude this equipment from dislodging during emergency landing, flight, ground or turbulent loading conditions.3.8 All emergency equipment and furnishings of the cabin crew station shall be designed and located so a

29、s not to obstruct access to or restrict full operation of an emergency exit or impede occupant progress to or through an exit.SAE INTERNATIONAL ARP583J Page 4 of 43.9 The cabin crew station shall be located and configured so that an incapacitated cabin crew member can be rapidly extricated from the

30、cabin crew seat and removed from the aircraft without a significant delay or impediment to evacuation.3.10 Cabin crew stations shall be designed and located such that head strike is eliminated. Any proximate projecting object that would injure seated cabin crew shall be padded. (Reference 14 CFR/CS

31、25.785) In lieu of padding adequate radii are also acceptable.3.11 The respective locations of aft-facing cabin crew seats and the closest forward-facing passenger seats, of cabin crew-to-cabin crew opposing seats, and of a cabin crew seat facing any structure shall be determined in accordance with

32、AC 25-785-1.3.12 The recommended minimum light levels provided in the vicinity of the cabin crew station seat shall be the same as the recommended minimum light values for “seats” as provided in AIR512 Appendix A.3.13 All seats at each cabin crew station on an individual aircraft shall be equipped w

33、ith a restraint system that functions in the same manner and consists of a combined safety belt and dual upper torso shoulder harness with a single point release.3.14 There should be a means to protect the cabin crew station from weather (rain, snow) while the aircraft is on the ground.4.
