2、/multi-national partners complicate communications among mission partners and may result in significant payload information not receiving appropriate attention. Description of Driving Event: STS 90/Neurolab was a Spacelab module mission focusing on the effects of microgravity on the nervous system.

3、The mission was flown aboard the Columbia and launched on the 17 of April 1998 and lasted 17 days. The goals of Neurolab were to study basic research questions and to increase the understanding of the mechanisms responsible for neurological and behavioral changes in space. The mission was a joint ve

4、nture of several space agencies and U.S. research agencies including the National Institutes of Health, the National Science Foundation, and the Office of Naval Research, as well as the space agencies of Canada, France, Germany, and Japan, and the European Space Agency. While the Neurolab mission wa

5、s an overall success it experienced several on-orbit hardware failures and problems that may have been minimized or prevented had there been better communications between mission constituents.
