When specified (see 6.2), the contractor shall furnish sample units for first article inspection and approval (se
16、e 4.3 and 6.4). 3.2 Materials. Materials shall con orm to applicable specifications and as specified herein. Materials which are not covered by applicable specifications or which are not specifically described herein, shall be of the best quality, of the lightest practicable weight and suitable for
17、the purpose intended. 3.3 Design and construction, The design and construction shall be in accor- dance with Drawings 8-2-66, 8-2-67 and 8-2-68 except as noted herein and on Figure 1. 3.3.1 Front. The front shall be in accordance with Drawing 8-2-67, except as specified herein. The front shall be so
18、 constructed to fit accurately with the lenses specified herein and shall show no evidence of spacing between the frame and lens. The base metal for the front shall be made of nickel silver con- taining not less than 14 percent nickel. The base metal shall be plated with a non-brightening nickle pla
19、te of not less than 0.0025mm (0.0001 inch) followed by a flash chrome plate of a minimum of 0.000076 mm (0.000003 inch) on all signi- ficant surfaces. The nose pad shall be of the rocking-pad type and shall be adjustable to fit a wide range of nose sizes. The nose pad shall be in accor- dance with Drawing 8-2-67 and sha
21、ll be made of a clear, colorless, cellulose acetate butyrate. 3.3.1.1.1 Nose pad arm. The nose pad arm shall be in accordance with Drawing 8-2-68. The base metal, plating and finish shall be as specified for the front. 3.3.1.1.2 Nose pad insert. The nose pad insert shall be in accordance with Drawin
22、g 8-2-67. 3.3.1.1.3 Nose pad washer. The nose pad washer shall be in accordance with Drawing 8-2-68 and 8-2-67. 3.3.2 End pieces. The end pieces shall be constructed to permit independent removal of either the lens or temple and shall be in accordance with Drawing 8-2-67. The base metal, plating and
23、 finish of the end pieces shall be as specified for the front. 3.3.3 Temples. The temples shall be in accordance with Drawings 8-2-67 and 8-2-68. The base metal, plating and finish of the temples, except the temple screws, shall be as specified for the front. 3.3.3.1 Temple tips. The temple tips sha
24、ll be in accordance with Drawing 8-2-68. 3.3.3.2 Temple screws. The temple screws shall be in accordance with Drawings 8-2-67 and 8-2-68. 3.3.4 Lenses.
