REQUIREMENTS 3.1 Standard sanples, Standard srniples, when furnished, are solely for guidance and information to the contractor (see 6.3). Variation f

When specified (see 6.2), a carple shall be subjected to first article inspection (see 6.4) in accordance with 4.4. 3.3 Materials 3.3.1 Basic material. %e basic material for th

23、nforming to type II, class K, style 25 of V+-871 tan shade AJ, Cable No. 62026. (See DOD Standard Shades for Buttons - 1966.) 3.3.5 Fastener pile tape. The nylon fastener loop tape to secure the neck- tab to the shirt shall be 5/8 inch wide x 3/4 inch long conforming to type I class 1 of MIGF-21840.

24、 The color of the fastener tape shall match the mate- rial of the shirt and conform to the colorfastness requirements specified in MIL-F-21840. 3.3.6 Labels. 3.3.6.1 Identification label. Each shirt shall have an identification label conforming to type vi, class 1 of ihLi-20. %e fastness to launderi

Tne shirts shall be the U.S. Marine Corps design shown on Figures 1 thrwh 4, seven button front and back yoke, shirred, front omanen- tal sleeve cuff (type I) and convertible collar. ?he type II shirt shall be on the same body design except with lon

30、g sleeves and cuff to button. Standard patterns will be furnished to the contractor by the Government. The standard patterns shall not be altered in any way and shall be used only as a guide for cutting the contractors wrking patterns. Ihe standard patterns provide 1/4 inch seam allowance for making

31、 the collar and 3/8 inch sean allowance for all other ceans except as otherwise specified in Table I. Standard patterns shcw size, sean allowance, directional lines for cutting and are marked or notched for proper placement and assembly of the conponent parts. 3.5.1 Pattern arts. The shirts shall be

The shirts chai1 be manufactured in accordance with the operations and stitch, sem, and stitching types specified in Table I. me contractor is not required to follm the exact sequence of operations as listed in Table I, but all operations shall be used to manufact

35、ure the shirts. The stitch, sean, and stitching types specified in Table I shall conform to FED-SW751. tiaienever ttm or more stitch or sean types are specified for the sane operation, any one of them may be used. ?he nunber of stitches per inch as specified in Table I indicates the minimum and maxi

36、mum nunber permitted. All overedge stitching shall be done on a serging machine with a knife attach- ment properly set to trim, not more than 1/8 inch, the raveled ee without cutting the material. When 517 stitch is used for the overedge stitch, it must be used throughout the shirt where given as an

37、 option. Ends of seam and stitching (stitch type 301), except the ends of a continuous line of stitch- ing, when not callght in another sean or stitching, shall be backtacked not less than 1/4 inch. me ends of a continuous line of stitching shall be mer- lapped not less than 1/2 inch. Thread breaks

38、(all stitch types) shall be secured by stitching back of the break not less than 1/2 inch. 3.6.1 Shade marki . The caponent parks of the shirt, except parts cut frcm ends +rked s a to ensure a uniform shade and size throughout the garment. Any mthcd of shade marking may be used except: (a) CUrrosive

39、 metal fastening devices. (b) Sew on tickets. (c) Adhesive type tickets which show discoloration and the adhesive mass which adheres to the material upon reiioval of the ticket, (d) Any marking mediun which muld tend to leave a permanent mark. NOTE: me use of ink pad numbering machine, rubber stamp,

40、 or pencil is al- lowed, provided the nunbering does not show on the outside of the garment and, wherever possible, is covered by the seam allowance. 3.6.2 Pressi All pressing oprations specified in Table I shall be accanplishe with a heated pressing iron or pressing machine set at medium (low) tenp

41、erature (285F maximum). 3.6.3 Fusing operations. All fusing of the fusible to the basic material shall be on a single ply basis (no stackinq allowed). The statement “fuse fusible to various cut parts in accordance with the manufacturers recomnenda- tion“ refers to time, tenperature, and pressure. 6
