SCOPE. This commercial ite

2、m description (CID) covers various refined paraffin wax applications for manufacture of religious candles, waterproofing, impregnating, coating of various materiais, and as an embedding compound. 2. CLASSIFICATION. The waxes shall be of the following grades and codes as specified (see 7.2): Grade (M

SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS. k J 3.1 Description. The wax shall

6、 be the type known commercially as refined paraffin wai. It shall be fumished in approximate weight according to standard industry practice: single 1-pound (Ib) or four 0.25-lb (0.453 kilogram (kg) or 0.1 13 kg) cakes, and 10-lb or 11-lb (4.53 kg or 4.98 kg) cakes or slabs. The wax may also be suppl

7、ied in nonstandard weights and shapes as specified in the contract or order. The refined wax shall be clean, homogeneous in appearance, and free from dirt or other foreign matter. 3.2 Standard commercial product. The wax shall, as a minimum, be in accordance with the requirements of this commercial

8、item description and shall be the manufacturers standard commercial product. Additional or better features which are not specifically prohibited by this commercial item description but which are a part of the manufacturers standard commercial product, shall be included in the wax being furnished. A

9、standard commercial product is a product which has been sold or is being currently offered for sale on the commercial market through advertisements or manufacturers catalogs, or brochures, and represents the latest production model. 4. REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS. 4.1 Materials. The offeror/contractor i

10、s encouraged to use recovered materials to the maximum extent practicable, in accordance with paragraph 23.403 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation VAR). Unless otherwise specified herein, all equipment, material, and articles incorporated in the work covered by this commercial item description are

11、 to be new and fabricated using materials produced from recovered materials to the maximum extent possible without jeopardizing the intended use. The term “recovered materials” means materials which have been collected or recovered from solid waste and reprocessed to become a source of raw materials

12、, as opposed to virgin raw materials. Unless otherwise specified, none of the above shall e interpreted to mean that the use of used or rebuilt products are allowed under this commercial item description. 4.2 Chemical and phvsical requirements. The wax shall conform to the requirements specified in

Products manufactured to metric dimensions will be considered on an e

14、qual basis with those manufactured using inch-pound units, provided they fall within specified tolerances using conversion tables contained in the latest version of ASTM SI-10 ITEEE/ASTM SI-lo), and all other requirements of this commercial item description including form, fit and function are met.

15、If a product is manufactured to metric dimensions and those dimensions exceed the tolerances specified in the inch-pound units, a request should be made to the contracting oficer to determine if the product is acceptable. The contracting officer has the option of accepting or rejecting the product.

16、5. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS. 5.1 Prouct conformance. The products provided shall meet the salient characteristics of this commercial item description, conform to the producers own drawings, specifications, standards, and quaiity assurance practices, and be the same product offered for sale in th

17、e commercial market. The government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance. 6. PACKAGING. The preservation, packing, and marking shall be as specified in the contract or order. 7.
