2、rcial Item Description 1.0 ScoDe. his description covers an assembiy that dispenses a pressurized sol vent ( i sopropyl al coho1 ) for used in cleaning electrical components on aircraft. 2.0 Classification. The assembly shall be a hand-held assembly with an activating trigger, a nozzle embedded in a

3、 bristle brush and a 3 foot long feed tube that connects to a 16-ounce, self pressurized can of isopropyl alcohol. 3.0 Salient characteristics. 3.1 Hand held assembly. 3.1.1 Spray head. The assembly shall be an ESD safe polypropylene/aluminum nozzle spray head mounted on an unpainted aluminum cylind

4、er with a 1.25 inch diameter connected to a 3 foot long feed tube. The assembly length shall be 6 inches and have an easily operated finger trigger which releases solvent flow from the pressurized can through the feed tube. 3.1.2 Feed tube. The feed tube shall be a nylon tube encased in braided insu

5、lation covered with an ESD safe stainless steel wire overjacket. The end of the feed tube shall have a clip which locks the tube onto the self-pressurized can nozzle. The length of the feed tube shall be 3 feet. 3.1.3 Steel ferrule. The brush tips shall be held tightly in place using a plated steel

6、ferrule with a length of 1.25 inch and a diameter of 0.45 inch. 3.1.4 Attachment instructions. The unpainted cylinder portion of the assembly shall be printed with pictorial and written instructions for correct attachment of the assembly to the self-pressurized can of solvent. The assembly shall be furnished

9、 with 3 natural bristle tips as follows: a. Brush tip No. 1. Regular texture bristles that when fitted in the steel ferrule shall extend 1.0 inch from the end of the ferrule. This brush tip is safe for use on ESD sensitive parts. b. Brush tiD No. 2. Regular texture bristles that when fitted in the s

10、teel ferrule shall extend 0.375 inch from the end of the ferrule. c. Brush tiD No. 3. Soft texture bristles that when fitted in the steel ferrule shall extend 0.375 inch from the end of the ferrule. The soft texture bristle provides only slow solvent flow. 3.3 Solvent. The solvent shall be furnished

11、 in a self-pressurized metal container with 90% by weight reagent grade, anhydrous isopropyl alcohol and 10% by weight HFC-134a propellant. not less than 10 ounces. The net weight of each container shall be 3.3.1 Container labels. Each container shall be labeled in accordance with CFR Title 49 and o

12、ther applicable regulations and shall include the following directions for use and precautions: CAUTION: FLAMMABLE LIQUID. Contents under pressure. Keep away from heat or flame. Turn power off prior to use. DIRECTIONS FOR USE: After the power is turned off, the applicator with Brush Tip No. 1 may be

13、 used to clean electrical connector plugs: Place brush on male or female plug, activate solvent flow while agitating the brush. Repeat to rinse. plugs or applying power to equipment. The same procedure may be used to clean solder flux from - spot repairs. IMPORTANT: Allow solvent to evaporate prior

O Requl atorv reauirements. 4.1 Metric Droducts; Assemblies manufactured to metric dimensions will be considered on an equal basis with those manufactured using inch-pound units, provided they fall within specified tolerances using conversion tables contained in the latest version

19、ceptability criteria are necessary to document the quality of the product to be provided under this Commercial Item Description: a. product meeting the requirements of this Commercial Item Description for at least 2 year%. 20、mpany must have offered the assembly to a government laboratory for inspection. 6.0 Packaqinq. the contract or order.
