Part 1 1.0 APPLICATION This specification covers carpet and trim materials suitable for use in floor and trim applications. 2.0 SCOPE This specification covers all carpet and trim materials. Part 1 of the specification describes general and
5、 performance requirements and certification of flammability resistance, which pertain to all products. Qualification, quality control and source approval, and shipping and identification requirements, common to all products, are also included in Part 1. Requirements for construction, material, finis
6、hed weight, strength, and abrasion resistance for each particular type of material (Type A, Type B, etc.) are covered in Part 2 of this specification. 2.1 Restricted Chemical Substances Effective JANUARY 1, 2007, all product supplied to the requirements of this specification must comply with the req
7、uirements of CEMS B-50. 3.0 REFERENCE DOCUMENTS Unless otherwise specified, the latest issue of all referenced standards shall apply. JUNE 2010 Page 2 of 9 Part 1 3.1 Definitions For definition of terms relating to textiles and fabric products, see ASTM D 123. 4.0 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS All products supplied shall meet the requirements shown in Part 1 and in addition s
11、hall meet the requirements for the specific type of product (Type A, Type B, etc.) as shown in Part 2. If the material is bonded or laminated, see TMS-7028 for further requirements of the assembly. 4.1 Color, texture and finish of production material supplied must match master samples of the pre-pro
12、duction material originally approved and on file in the Master Fabric Book at TDTC Industrial Design Department. 4.2 Material Lay Material must be fabricated in such a manner that wrinkles or fullness shall not occur between edges when material is rolled out on a flat surface and in a straight line
13、for a minimum of 17.4 m (19 yd) lengths. Material must be rolled with facing side out. 4.3 Performance Requirements Unless otherwise specified, the material shall be conditioned and tested under standard conditions, 21 2 C and 50 5% RH. 4.3.1 Accelerated Weathering per CEMS GT-31, Zone C All materia
14、ls shall qualify to one of the two following tests: 4.3.1.1 Fluorescent UV: Method F 4.3.1.1.1 Expose sample to 100 hours continuous UV-A fluorescent light (w/o condensation cycle) at 40 C. 4.3.1.2 Xenon Arc: Method A 4.3.1.2.1 Interior cycle, 225 kJ/m min. 4.3.1.3 Required (Either Method): There wi
15、ll be no sign of color alteration greater than E of 3, decreased pliability or fiber degradation after exposure. A minimum rating of 3.0 per AATCC Evaluation Procedure 1. 4.3.2 Mildew Resistance: AATCC Method 30 Shall not exhibit any objectionable odor or growth of mildew. 4.3.3 Flammability Resista
16、nce: TMS-9544 (FMVSS 571.302) Material supplied to this specification shall meet all requirements TMS-9544 and the latest issue of Federal Motor Vehicle Standard #302 - Flammability of Interior Materials. The supplier shall provide certification of compliance in accordance with requirements of TMS-9
17、543. 4.3.4 Colorfastness to Rubbing: CEMS DT-12 4.3.4.1 Method Perform crocking test dry, wet, and with 100% petroleum naphtha and with chemicals listed in CEMS DT-12, Method A. 4.3.4.2 Required Minimum AATCC Rating of 4. 19、lity necessary for good tailoring, be uniform in quality, and match the color and finish of preproduction approved samples. 5.1 Qualification Materials and processes submitted for approval to this specification shall include the following: 5.1.1 Report: A detailed and signed report documenting testi
20、ng to this specification prepared as per TMS-9543. The report will include actual test data and not merely test summaries. 5.1.2 Failure Modes: Test samples or photographs showing failure modes for each destructive test. 5.1.3 Test Procedure: The procedures used for preparing and testing material. 5
21、.1.4 Analysis: A detailed analysis of the test results including assumptions made, unexpected results and an explanation of any non-compliant results. 5.1.5 Material: Pre-production material sufficient for complete test and evaluation by Navistar. 5.2 Identification 5.2.1 Roll Goods for Floor and Tr
22、im Back of material shall bear manufacturers initials or trademark in letters a minimum of 12.7 mm (1/2 in) in height, with the month and year of fabrication, with an approved marking to indicate flame retardance, equally spaced a minimum of four times across the width with linear spacing of not mor
23、e than 30 cm (12 in). Marking compound must be permanent, clearly legible and of such composition that it shall not transfer to the face of the material when rolled. 5.3 Inspection Tests The following tests are recommended for receiving inspection: color, finish, tensile strength, tear strength, and
24、 weight. 6.0 SOURCE APPROVAL AND QUALITY CONTROL 6.1 Supplier Requirements All suppliers to NAVISTAR are required to be registered to ISO 9001 Quality System Requirements. NAVISTAR will also accept TS-16949 registration as long as the supplier can also fulfill all AIAG PPAP (Production Part Approval
