5、essentially with American National Standard ANSI B 18.5. The Patent Head Bolt is peculiar to NAVISTAR and is not recognized by the American National Standards Institute. Short Square Neck Carriage Bolts are limited to lengths up to and including 1-1/2 inches. Square Neck Carriage Bolts are generally

9、e variety of parts and assure maximum availability, interchangeability and cost savings in volume buying. 24、 4 of 7 5.5 Full Diameter Body: All bolts covered by this standard will be furnished with full diameter body of limits given in the dimensional tables. 5.6 Straightness: The shanks of bolts will be straight within the limitations tabulated below: Nominal Bolt Length Allowable Camber Per Inch of bolt

A suggested gage and gaging procedure for checking straightness are shown in MPAPS S-B-1.101-GS/PL. 6.0 H

26、EAD MARKING: Bolts will have legible, raised radial head markings to indicate bolt type (see A-31, Part I), and a manufacturers identification symbol recognizable in the trade to indicate source. Marking symbols on the heads for bolt sizes 5/8 inch and smaller will project not less than .005 inch ab

27、ove the surface nor more than .015 inch over the specified maximum head height; and for bolt sizes larger than 5/8 inch will project not less than the equivalent in inches of .0075 times the basic bolt diameter above the surface nor more than .030 inch over the specified maximum head height. 7.0 POI

28、NT: None of the bolts covered by this specification are pointed. Bolts will be sheared, with the first thread incomplete. 8.0 THREADS: Threads will be Unified Coarse (UNC), Class 2A. 9.0 LENGTH OF THREAD: The length of thread will be measured, parallel to the axis of bolt, from the end of bolt to th

29、e last complete (full form) thread. For bolts other than plow or short neck carriage bolts, the minimum length of thread will be equal to twice the basic bolt diameter plus .25 inch for nominal bolt lengths of 6 inches or shorter, and twice the basic bolt diameter plus .50 inch for longer nominal le

30、ngths. Bolts of nominal length too short to accommodate the minimum thread lengths will have full form threads extending as close to the head or neck as practicable. 10.0 MATERIAL AND PHYSICAL PROPERTIES: Types 1, 5 and 8 as indicated by part number and in accordance with MPAPS F-31, Part I.
