6、1706/Y.2801 Mobility management requirements for NGN Summary This Recommendation describes the requirements for mobility management (MM) for Next Generation Networks (NGN). For this purpose, this Recommendation describes the considerations for mobility management in the NGN, classifies the types of
7、mobility management for NGN environment, and identifies a set of the MM requirements for NGN. The ITU Telecommunication Standardization Sector (ITU-T) is a permanent organ of ITU. ITU-T is responsibl
9、e for studying technical, operating and tariff questions and issuing Recommendations on them with a view to standardizing telecommunications on a worldwide basis. The World Telecommunication Standardization Assembly (WTSA), which meets every four years, establishes the topics for study by the ITU-T
10、study groups which, in turn, produce Recommendations on these topics. The approval of ITU-T Recommendations is covered by the procedure laid down in WTSA Resolution 1. In some areas of information technology which fall within ITU-Ts purview, the necessary standards are prepared on a collaborative ba
11、sis with ISO and IEC. NOTE In this Recommendation, the expression “Administration“ is used for conciseness to indicate both a telecommunication administration and a recognized operating agency. Compliance with this Recommendation is voluntary. However, the Recommendation may contain certain mandator
12、y provisions (to ensure e.g. interoperability or applicability) and compliance with the Recommendation is achieved when all of these mandatory provisions are met. The words “shall“ or some other obligatory language such as “must“ and the negative equivalents are used to express requirements. The use
13、 of such words does not suggest that compliance with the Recommendation is required of any party. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS ITU draws attention to the possibility that the practice or implementation of this Recommendation may involve the use of a claimed Intellectual Property Right. ITU takes no
14、position concerning the evidence, validity or applicability of claimed Intellectual Property Rights, whether asserted by ITU members or others outside of the Recommendation development process. As of the date of approval of this Recommendation, ITU had not received notice of intellectual property, p

19、requirements for NGN 1 Scope The scope of this Recommendation is to identify the requirements for Mobility Management (MM) for NGN. Note that the scope of this Recommendation is not limited to a specific level of mobility and covers full mobility. To that end, this Recommendation describes the follo
20、wing: Considerations of MM for NGN; Classification of MM types for NGN; Requirements for MM for NGN. Administrations may require operators and service providers to take into account national regulatory and national policy requirements in implementing this Recommendation. 2 References The following I
