ITU-T Recommendation 4.2765 Signalling System No. 7 B-ISDN User Part (B-ISUP) - Application Transport Mechanism (APM) Summary This ITU-T Recommendation
、, Application Transport Mechanism (APM), is an addition to the B-ISDN User Part (B-ISUP) that provides a transport mechanism for its applications requiring a bearer and, in conjunction, support the applications signalling information flow. This transport mechanism provides the same capabilities as t
、hat which the Transaction Capabilities Application Part (TCAP) provides its user. The basic function of the Application Transport Mechanism is to create signalling associations between the APM-user application logic located at a public initiating node (PIN) and its per APM- user application located
、at the public address node. Source ITU-T Recommendation 4.2765 was prepared by ITU-T Study Group 11 (1997-2000) and approved under the WTSC Resolution 1 procedure on 3 December 1999. ITU-T 4.2765 (12/1999) 1 FOREWORD The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) is the United Nations specialized a
、gency in the field of telecommunications. The ITU Telecommunication Standardization Sector (ITU-T) is a permanent organ of ITU. ITU-T is responsible for studying technical, operating and tariff questions and issuing Recommendations on them with a view to standardizing telecommunications on a worldwi
、de basis. The World Telecommunication Standardization Conference (WTSC), which meets every four years, establishes the topics for study by the ITU-T study groups which, in turn, produce Recommendations on these topics. The approval of ITU-T Recommendations is covered by the procedure laid down in WT
、SC Resolution 1. In some areas of information technology which fall within ITU-Ts purview, the necessary standards are prepared on a collaborative basis with IS0 and IEC. NOTE In this Recommendation, the expression “Administration“ is used for conciseness to indicate both a telecommunication adminis
