This test procedure is intended to determine the flame resistance of adhesives and sealers located in or near a welding operation. 1.2 Foreword. Not

This Test Procedure may be used for Body Shop adhesives and sealers. 2 References Note: Only the latest approved standards are applicable unless otherwise specified. 2.1 External Standards/Specifications. 4、lities. Not applicable. 3.2 Equipment. 3.2.1 CRS steel panel. 3.2.2 Bunsen burner with natural gas fuel. 3.2.3 Panel / Flame apparatus. 3.3 Test Piece. All dimensions are as specified below, unless otherwise specified or agreed upon by the GM approving engineer. 3.3.1 2.5 mm x 35 mm x 130 mm long be

5、ad applied to a cleaned CRS steel panel of 250 mm x 100 mm. 3.4 Test Time. Calendar time: 1 day Test hours: 2 h Coordination hours: 1 h 3.5 Test Required Information. Not applicable. 3.6 Personnel/Skills. Not applicable. 4 Procedure 4.1 Preparation. See paragraph 4.3. 4.2 Conditions. 4.2.1 Environme

6、ntal Conditions. The test shall be performed at (+23 5) C. 4.2.2 Test Conditions. Deviations from the requirements of this standard shall have been agreed upon. 8、m x 130 mm long bead on the CRS test panel. 4.3.2 Air dry sample for 30 minutes. 4.3.3 Adjust gas flow to have a 50 mm high flame. Air flow shall be adjusted to get 2 distinct inner and outer blue cones. 4.3.4 Position flame in that way, that the inner cone touch the material perpendicular to panel

9、at the edge of bead and turn drive motor on. Flame rate of travel shall be a uniform 25.5 mm/s. The flame travels across the width of the bead for 1 s and off for 1 s at both ends of travel. Travel per pass is 76 mm. The flame may also be held stationary with panel moving across flame. 4.3.5 Repeat

10、for number of cycles as described in the individual Material Specification. Unless stated otherwise in an individual Material Specification, the sample shall be self-extinguishing after the specified number of cycles. 4.3.6 Following cycle test, subject inverted sample directly into flame until igni

11、tion of sample occurs. 4.3.7 Remove sample from flame and re-invert. Report whether material is self-extinguishing. 5 Data 5.1 Calculations. Not applicable. 5.2 Interpretation of Results.
