It is Superceded for all future projects and replaced by GMW3091. 1. PURPOSE The transient voltage injection test is performed to evaluate

3、 the susceptibility of vehicle electric parts to transient that has similar frequency component and large size component. 2. SCOPE This standard applies to electric parts for GMDAT vehicles that may cause transient and electric parts, systems and subsystems that may be affected by transient. 3. TEST

4、 SAMPLE CONDITION The electric parts shall be mounted to the positions in the vehicle as specified in drawings and be of the type suitable for the test vehicle. 4. TEST EQUIPMENT 4.1. Digitizing oscilloscope (TDS540) or equivalent equipment It is used to measure test wave form and check changes in t

5、he power source and signals during test. 4.2. Storage oscilloscope (DL1200) or equivalent equipment Usage same as 4.1. 4.3. Signal generator It is used to generate the test waveform to inject. While it is possible to change both the frequency component and size component, the type of the waveform is

6、 limited. - Pulse function generator : HP 8116A - Digital signal generator : HP 8175A : 4.4. Interference generator (NSG 500, 506C) It is used to generate the test waveform to inject. It is capable of generating the representative transient in the vehicle. While it is difficult to change the frequen

7、cy component, the size component can be changed and various types of waveforms are available. 4.5. RF amplifier (150L) It is used to amplify the weak signals generated in the signal generator. 4.6. Other subsidiary test equipment Accessories required for the test are as follows: EDS-T-5007TRANSIENT

TEST PROCEDURES 5.1. Test planning 5.1.1. Vehicle and test sample check Prior to the test, check if

9、 specifications of electric parts mounted to the vehicle are suitable for the test vehicle. 5.1.2. Selection of injection transient level Select 125 % of the maximum level obtained in the transient analysis. 5.1.3. Selection of transient injection position Inject the transient to the ignition or bat

10、tery (B+) of electric parts where the maximum level is produced. When an agreement has been made with the requester, it may be injected to the signal line. 5.1.4. Selection of injection transient waveform The type of the injected waveform selected by the tester is either one of the following two: (1

11、) Sinusoidal burst, which is a type of the waveform that can be created by inputting the basic frequency and sustaining time of the burst. (2) A waveform as a result of simulating the transient that can take place in the vehicle. It is made similar to the type of waveform similar to the transient ob

12、tained in transient analysis performed with various types of transients. But, it has limitation in the frequency component. 5.1.5. Selection of monitoring method in transient injection A faulty operation observation method shall be selected to check for presence of faulty operation of electric parts

13、 in the vehicle during and after transient injection. The method of checking for faulty operation may vary depending on the electric parts. (1) Major ECU (ECM, ABS, air bag, immobilizer, TCM, etc) 1) Changes in output signals of major ECU : The change in signals is checked with an oscilloscope durin

14、g transient injection. Usually 10% of the output signals is set as the limits of faulty operation while it may vary depending on electric parts. Note: When an agreement has been made with the requester, the variation margin of output signals may be changed. This shall be recorded on the report. 2) I

15、t is also observed through changes and lighting of warning lamps for electric parts. (2) Other electric parts mounted to vehicle Check for changes in illumination and operating conditions of electric parts. Note: When an agreement has been made with the requester, the method of checking for faulty o

This shall be recorded on the report 5.1.6. Vehicle conditions The test vehicle shall be in the idle conditions during the test. 5.2. Test equi

17、pment set-up The test equipment is set up according to clause 5.1.4. 5.2.1. When sinusoidal waveform is selected as the test waveform It is shown in attached Fig 1. 5.2.2. When waveform that simulates transient is selected as the test waveform It is shown in attached Fig 1. 5.3. Test procedures The

18、test is divided into two according to clause 5.1.4 and the tester is to select one of them to proceed with the test. 5.3.1. Test with injection of sinusoidal waveform (1) Connect the signal output terminal of the signal generator (HP 8116A, 8175A) to the RF input terminal of the RF amplifier (150L A

19、MPLIFIER) with a BNC cable. (2) Connect the RF output terminal of the RF amplifier (150L AMPLIFIER) to the GEN. terminal of the RF coupler (SOLAR7415-3) Note: The RF coupler shall be grounded. (3) Connect the GEN. terminal of the RF coupler (SOLAR7415-3) to a 50 Ohm load with an RF cable. Note: Duri

20、ng verification of the injection waveform, the RF coupler DET. terminal shall be connected to a 50 Ohm load. During test waveform injection, however, the RF coupler and the 50 Ohm load shall remain disconnected. (4) The LINE and GND terminals of the RF coupler shall be connected with a cable that ha

21、s a banana connector (or similar connector) for injection to the vehicle electric parts. (5) Turn on the signal generator power and RF amplifier power. Following completion of RF amplifier warming-up, the STANDBY power is turned on. Subsequent pressing of OPERATE button on the RF amplifier completes

22、 preparation of test equipment for test waveform injection. Note: The gain of the amplifier shall be set to the lowest level before operating OPERATE button of the RF amplifier. Otherwise, supply of instantaneous power to the amplifier affects other equipment. (6) Connect the LINE and GND lines of t

23、he RF coupler to the oscilloscope to verify the test waveform. The test waveform level is 125% of the transient obtained at transient analysis. Accordingly, it shall be checked with an oscilloscope if the test waveform level reached the desired value. To adjust the value, either the RF amplifier gai

24、n or signal generator level shall be adjusted. 25、uto & Technology (8) After test waveform verification, inject transient to the vehicle electric parts. The injecting position shall be as specified in the test plan. The number of transient injection shall be 10 times. (9) When it is deemed necessary to check the changes in signal of electric parts

26、during the test, signals of the oscilloscope shall be checked. In the event of any abnormal signals, these shall be plotted and recorded. For electric parts, which cannot but be observed visually during injection, faulty operation of electric parts is to be recorded when such takes place. 5.3.2. Tes

27、t with simulation waveform injection (1) Check the specifications of the electric parts which serve as the source of the transient obtained in transient analysis. (2) Determine the type of the test waveform to inject. Note: The interference generator (NSG 500,506C) used in this procedure is the equi

28、pment capable of simulating 7 types of transient. The 7 types of transient here are those take place in the vehicle. The following is the description of these 7 transients: - PULSE 1 : Transient that is created when the power supply for electric parts having inductance type loads is cut off - PULSE

29、2 : Transient that is created when the current flowing through the inductor of electric parts momentarily stops. It is created after switching off of the ignition and the DC motor connected to the ignition switch. - PULSE 3a : Transient that is created when switching operation takes places in succes

30、sion - PULSE 3b : Same as PULSE 3a - PULSE 5 : Transient that is caused by abrupt short-circuit of the battery power source - PULSE 7 : Transient that is caused by the decrease of magnetic component at vehicle engine OFF. (3) Connect the battery to the connector at the back of the interference gener

31、ator (4) Connect the 50 Ohm attenuator (100:1, MD500) to the +/-output terminals of the interference generator. This is to protect the test equipment. (5) Connect the cable for injection to the vehicle electric parts and the attenuator output terminal. Note: Special care shall be taken of the attenu

32、ator output terminal, which is connected to the battery at the back of the interference generator, so that it will not be in contact with the metals around the test equipment. (6) To verify the type of the selected waveform, connect the attenuator output terminal cable to the oscilloscope. The test

33、waveform level is 125% of the transient obtained at transient analysis. To adjust the injection level, the AMPLITUDE switch shall be adjusted. (7) After test waveform verification, inject transient to the vehicle electric parts. The injecting position shall be as specified in the test plan. The numb

34、er of transient injection shall be 10 times. (8) When it is deemed necessary to check the changes in signal of electric parts during the test, signals of the oscilloscope shall be checked. 36、llowing: 6.1. Generals on the test vehicle and electric parts. When electric parts other than the normal types are installed, it shall be recorded. 6.2. Description of the level obtained in transient analysis and 125%-amplified value. 6.3. Transient injecting position 6.4. Overall description of the

37、 injected transient waveform (type of waveform, number of burst injection, burst size) 6.5. Faulty operation during injection 6.6. List of test equipment and particulars on calibration 7.
