Gasoline and diesel passengercars.1.4 Definitions.Reserve Volume: Amount of usable fuel (platformspecific) remaining in tank after driver is audible orvisual warned the first time.Static Unusable Capacity: Volume of remainingfuel in tank after t
4、he fuel pump has drained all that itis able to drain. Fuel system is in design (curb mass)position for level ground and not moving.Dynamic Unusable Capacity: Volume of remain-ing fuel in tank after the fuel pump has drained allthat it is able to drain. Not applicable.4.2 Conditions.4.2.1 Environmental Conditions. See relevant testin paragraph 4.3.4.2.2 Test Conditions. Deviations fr
15、om the require-ments of the test procedures shall have been agreedupon. Such requirements shall be specified on com-ponent drawings, test certificates, reports etc.4.3 Instructions.4.3.1 Basic Test. Temperature shall be between(0.+40) C.Install equipment at the interface between Powertrainand Produc
16、t Engineering (refer to correspondingPT-SSTS) to measure and record flow rate and pres-sure at feed- and return line (if applicable), currentvoltage at the fuel pump, voltage of battery, enginespeed and vehicle speed.a Start engine and idle vehicle while measuring.b Drive on the circular lapeach eng
17、inespeed ineachgear while measuring.c Accelerate vehicle at WOT (wide open throttle) tomaximum speed or as fast as possible.d Repeat c at +38 C, with summer fuel, half tankvolume, 40 km at 130 km/h followed by 20 min atmaximum speed and soak vehicle for 20 min. (Incase of deviation from +38 C ambien
18、t tempera-ture, adapt vapor pressure as described in para-graph 4.3.5).4.3.2 Cold Fuel Starting Performance.
