、e proportion nonconforming, assuming that the requirements for a continuous manufacturing process in Section 3.2.1 are satisfied. For lot sizes that are less than 20 times the sample size, use the equation below Table 2 to calculate AOQ. Data accumulated over successive lots can be used to calculate
、 an average quality in PPM in accordance with EL4 STD 554. (See Section 2.2) 3.3 SELECTION When the conditions of Paragraph 3.2.1 are met for a continuous manufacturing process, refer to either Table 1 or the individual Operating Characteristic curves in Appendix A to select the desired level of pro

If the existing lot size is not equal to or larger than the value in Table 1, the Average Outgoing Quality curves in Appendix A should not be used for estimating the long term average pro
、portion defective. For example, use Table 1 and assume a consumer protection of 95% is selected, which means that the probability of accepting a lot of material is only 5% for a specific proportion of nonconforming items (p) in the material being inspected. If the selected value of p equals 600 PPM,
、 the required sample size is 5000. The appropriate Operating Characteristic curve is shown in Appendix A, along with the Average Outgoing Quality curve. If the lot size equals or exceeds the value shown in Table 2, which is lOO,OOO, then the long term Average Outgoing Quality Limit (AOQL), which is
、the maximum AOQ over all possible levels of incoming quality, is approximately 74 PPM. For any inspection lot from a continuous process, the probability of accepting a lot from a process producing a proportion p of nonconforming units, based on inspecting a sample size of n with an acceptance number
