2、, POWER STEERING RETURN WSS-M96D45-B NOT TO BE USED FOR NEW DESIGN 1. SCOPE The material defined by this specification is a low pressure hydraulic hose. Hose assemblies shall be suitable for 1.7 MPa max working pressure. The hose is designed to operate through a temperature range of -40 to +150 C wh
3、en used under environmental working conditions. The hose also possesses good flexibility at -40 C. 2. APPLICATION This specification was released originally for material suitable for use as return lines on hydraulic power steering units. 3. REQUIREMENTS Part producers using this material in their pr
4、oducts, must use Ford approved materials and must conform to a process control plan which has been approved by STA and/or the relevant Materials Activity. 3.1 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For P
5、roduction Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.2 HOSE CONSTRUCTION The hose shall consist of a smooth bore synthetic rubber tube and high temperature and oil resistant synthetic rubber cover (see para 4). The tube shall be covered with a single ply of suitable braided reinforced textile. The hose may be co
6、upled with a crimped metal end-fittings. 3.3 The following tests shall be performed on finished hoses and/or test specimens cut from them. The test specimens shall be die-cut from the finished parts and buffed or slit to the required thickness where necessary. When not feasible, specimens cut from m
7、olded test slabs manufactured from the same material with an equivalent state of cure shall be used.
