2、cedure is used to determine the incidence of corrosion of zinc plated ferrous metals when placed in contact with seat belt webbing material in an atmosphere of high tem perature and high humidity. Scope The webbing material and the zinc plated ferrous metal part are clamped together and placed in a
3、controlled environment. The metal part is then inspected for corrosion, and the corroded area is calculated and reported as a percentage of the total area. Apparatus Required Method A NOTE: Test Method A is preferable over Method B when the necessary facilities are available. Test Chamber Blue M Env
4、ironmental Chamber. Model #CFR 7552BK or equivalent. Sample Ties Ty -Rap Cable Ties #T4525 MX or equivalent. Available from the Thomas and Betts Co., Elizabeth, N.J. Retractor Pawl Ford Part #62612B34 manufactured by the Hamil Mfg. Co. Corrosion Test Evaluation Grid A transparent grid of pliable pla
5、stic, 63.5 x 63.5 mm, marked off in 6.35 mm squares, is used to determine the amount of corrosion on the test specimens. The standard grid shall be rectangular in shape and shall contain 100 squares each 6.35 mm on each side (the lines marking the squares shall not exceed 0.13 mm in width). The perc
6、ent of corrosion is determined by placing the grid in firm contact with the plated surface of the test specimen and counting the grid units containing corrosion defects. 7、 All test values indicated herein are based on material conditioned in a controlled atmosphere of 23 +/ - 2 C and 50 +/ - 5 % relative humidity for not less than 24 h prior to testing and tested under the same conditions unless otherwise specified. Procedure Method A 1. Prepare t he test samples by
8、cutting three pieces of webbing 300 mm long. 2. Wrap each piece of webbing tightly around a retractor pawl and secure it with a plastic cable tie. 3. Place the three test samples in a controlled environment of 93 +/ - 1 C at 85 to 100 % relative humidity for 24 hours. 4. Remove the test samples from
