2、d determines the resistance of automotive electrical cable to oil and fuel. Materials and Apparatus Required Oil No. 1 - per ISO 1817 Fuel C - per ISO 1817 Mandrels Steel; as required per Table 1 and 2 Methanol Conditioning and Test Conditions All test values indicated herein are based on material c
3、onditioned in a controlled atmosphere of 23 +/- 2 C and 50 +/- 5% relative humidity for not less than 24 h prior to testing and tested under the same conditions unless otherwise specified. Procedure Method A - Oil Resistance 1. Prepare a test specimen as required by the relevant Engineering Material
4、s Specification. 2. Measure the nominal thickness of the cable insulation (T1). 3. Soak the test specimen for 24 h in oil No. 1 at a temperature of 90 +/- 2 C, with the ends protruding approximately 50 mm from the surface. 4. Remove the specimen, wipe clean and cool at 23 +/- 2 C for 30 minutes. 5.
5、Mount the specimen on a mandrel as shown in Figure 1 using the mandrel size and weight as specified in Tables 1 and 2.
