SCOPE The material defined by this specification is a gasketing material comprised of non-asbestos reinforcing compounds in combination with synthetic elastom
3、eric binders. 2. APPLICATION This specification was released originally for material requiring high flange loads to seal against internal pressures at moderately high temperatures plus good oil resistance such as the intake manifold gasket. 3. REQUIREMENTS Material specification requirements are to
4、be used for initial qualification of materials. All tests shall be conducted in accordance with ASTM F 104 Type 1, Class 1 material unless otherwise specified. Test specimens are to be selected from finished gaskets when practicable. 3.1 QUALITY SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS Material suppliers and part produc
5、ers must conform to the Companys Quality System Requirements. 3.2 ORIGINAL PROPERTIES (All thicknesses) 3.2.1 Tensile Strength, min 15.0 MPa 3.2.2 Compressibility 15 - 28% 3.2.3 Recovery, min 45% 3.3 HEAT AGING (All thicknesses) (22 h at 150 +/- 3 C) 3.3.1 Weight Change, max -10% 3.3.2 Compressibili
