SCOPE The material defined by this specification is an air dry, polytetrafluoroethylene dispersion in a thermoplastic resin, which is reduced in a suitable solvent to a 1

3、:3 ratio. The material dries to the touch in 5 min and fully air cures in 2 h at room temperature. The surface must be clear and free of oily deposits prior to coating. 2. APPLICATION This specification was released originally for lubricant used as a dry lubricant on zinc die cast ash tray slides. 3

GENERAL INFORMATION The information given below is provided for clarification and assistance in meeting the requirements of this specifi

7、cation. 5.1 SAFETY This material represents a possible fire and health hazard. The manufacturing engineering department shall notify the security and safety units of its presence in the plant and include specific locations in which it will be used and stored. This material shall be used only in well

8、 ventilated work areas. 5.2 APPLICATION The material is usually applied by spraying, though brush and dip methods can be used. A spray gun of the external atomizing type, using pressures of 242 - 344 kPa is recommended. For heavy coats, it is better to make multiple passes, allowing an air dry perio

9、d between passes, rather than applying a single heavy coat. 5.3 STABILITY The solids in this material will settle. Provision should be made to agitate it periodically when in use. 5.4 CURING The recommended drying time is 2 h at room temperature (23 +/- 2 C). When completely dry, the film should be hard and slick. A slight warming (not over 65 C) will shorten the drying time; however, the solvent vapors must be carefully vented. 5.5 SURFACE PRETREATMENT The surface must be clean and free of oily deposits.
