APPLICATIONThis specification was released originally for materials used for thefabrication of the windshield washer, coolant overflow reservoirs andfuel filler housing.3

REQUIREMENTS3.1 RAW MATERIAL3.1.1 Density, min 0.950 g/cm3(ASTM D 792)3.1.2 Melt Flow Rate, max 0.6 g/10minutes(ASTM D 1238)3.1.3 Melting Point, min 121 C(FLTM BO 021-02)3.2 MOLDED PART3.2.1 CONDITIONING AND TEST CONDITIONSAll test values indicated herein are based on materialconditioned in a cont
4、rolled atmosphere of 23 +/- 2 Cand 50 +/- 5 % relative humidity for not less than 24 hprior to testing and tested under the same conditionsunless otherwise specified.3.2.2 AppearanceThe color, pattern, and finish shall match the approvedDesign Center master sample, or shall be as specified onthe eng

6、TM D 2240)3.2.5 Low Temperature Shock ResistanceThere shall be no evidence of cracking or any permanentdeformation of the assembly.Test Method : Condition part specimen in the coldchamber for 5 h at - 29 +/- 1 C. Quickly remove thetest specimen from the chamber, (test observer shallwear gloves) plac
7、e the sample on its side, and then dropa 50 mm steel ball weighing 535 g from a height of 1.22m onto the specimen. The ball shall be directed asnearly as possible to the central portion of the testsurface.3.2.6 Heat ResistanceThere shall be no visible distortion or color change.Test Method: The part
8、 specimen shall be subjected to 3h at 102 +/- 3 C in a mechanical convection oven. Thetest specimen shall be shielded by suitable means fromthe direct high temperature air velocity.3.2.7 Solvent ResistanceThere shall be no visible deleterious effects such ascracking, crazing, color changes or other
9、surfaceimperfections.Test Method: Immerse a 25 mm portion of a sample 25 x75 mm, for 2 h at 23 +/- 2 C in the solvents listedbelow:. Petroleum naphtha M-14J147. Trichlorethylene ESB-M5B99. Kerosene M-14J132. Methyl ethyl ketone M-14J40. 50 % soap solution ESB-M1B9. ASTM Reference Fuel B(Fuel filler

11、. 3 h at 102 +/- 3 C. 5 h at 23 +/- 2 C. 16 h at - 29 +/- 1 CObservations shall be made at the completion of eachcycle.3.2.9 Environmental Exposure (Washer reservoirs only)Test Method: The container assembly shall be filledwith 20 % commercial windshield washer solution,covered.3.2.10 Environmental
